Question about smell

I just purchased 2 cabinets for growing (1 for mother and the other for flowering), my question is will I need a carbon filter for the mother chamber. That is, do the plants put off an odor when in the vegetative cycle?

There many many individule differences. But plants generally smell at all stages. 3M makes a real good carbon filter that you can buy for about $10 at Lowes. It might be all you need. Cut it in half, for your two cabinets.

Mocking, any chance you'd have a link for that carbon filter from Lowe's? I couldn't find it.
No, I don't have a link. I just walked around the isle with the furnace filters and saw them. The 3M brand have a black side and a turquois side. They are only about 3/8 thick and can be cut with heavy scissors.

I decided against the carbon filter. I'm gonna make the odor neutralizing bucket with the fan. Apparently it works great.
