Question about rain water

So I have a few more questions.

So my tap water's ph is around 7.6 and it's what i've been watering my plants with. They are growing very well and around 25" now.

I was wondering if I collect rain water (roughly a ph of 6.6)

Is it safe to collect rain water through a gutter system off of a roof and use on my plants?

Should I boil the water prior to watering my plants to kill off any germs and shit that are in the water and to purify it? (Obviously I'll allow it too cool for several hours prior to water down to room temp :) )

Will boiling water change the ph level?

Thanks,
Mr. Bud

I have read a couple of sources that say you can use rain water. They do suggest you skim it off the top if there is any debris in the water, and thats it. Otherwise there wouldn't be any advantage to using it. It would cost less to ph your tap water then it would to boil the rain water. VV
