question about nanners

got 2 phenos of dairy queen going from seed.
pheno 1 is really nice. lots of huge calyxes will be done in 2-3 days.

pheno 2 is in week 4-5 just starting to dense up and form buds. and today i noticed about 5 nanners in the middle of 2 buds on a plant in 4gal smart pots. no light stress. have been growing in this tent all winter with great results.

i have been cloning both.

questions about pheno 2
1) do i just pick them out with tweezers and finish this plant or chop it down now?
2) should i kill the clones from it?
3) make seeds (jk, i know this is the wrong choice)

thanks in advance.

ps, keep up the great weednerds

All depends if you have more plants in the room I would chop it as I hate seeds in my stash. And a few nanners can really mess up a good harvest.
If its going to be the only plant in the room I would probably let it go if it didn't get to bad.
I can live with a few seeds on one plant but if there is more plants that will be effected its not worth it to me to keep a hermi.
As for the clones if there is no real reason that the plant went hermi I would kill off the clones. As they will show the same traits.
Haven't had that problem with any of subs stuff but anything is possible.
Make sure you wipe the room down really good w/ water after the plant is out of the room to kill any left over pollen.
Good luck.

Yeah I agree with budfever, get rid of the clones especially, you definitely dont want to take a chance however if you think the plant in question was stressed somehow after you took clones, the clones may not be affected if they were separated but nanners around weeks 4 and 5 are exactly where you dont want to see them as far as a time frame, weeks 7-8-9 will usually be end of life nanners and arent going to affect much, but anything before week 7 or 8 gotta go I'd say.

thanks. this is the first nanners i have seen with TGA (on my 4th strain, AO, chernobyl, QT) none had nanners

i was actually thinking that this pheno wasnt gonna be a keeper for some reason....just a feeling i had.

the other pheno is amazing. cant wait to chop her.

no stress that i can think of. def no light leaks/stress....she has been sucking up the water
do you think i can finish her if i keep plucking the nanners if they keep comming?

i have 5 others in the room. 3 are coming out this week, 2 are 2-3wks in (one of which is her clone)

sucks to have to kill plants. but like sub said as a grower, you have to be able to kill the weak so the strong survive.

Sure you can pluck them but you will miss some and have at least some seeds.
I wouldn't worry about the plants that will be coming out this week.
But the others that are in early flower are the one I would worry about.
I have tried plucking before, worked with some success but man that pollen is a tricky SOB.
Just when you think "I think I got em all" you will find some fully open in the only place you didn't look.
Its really up to you and how much time you are wanting to spend inspecting the bud for them.
You still have roughly a month left, its going to be allot of work to keep the nanners at bay.

Ok...I did not read all these other posts for this reason...

I have actually done this...for real...a hermie plant will not make as many seeds as a plant that is male...so even if you let a hermie finish and it pollinates another plant those seeds would still be alright to try out..simply because >>> If it went hermie it is because you stressed it out...don't feel bad I have done it too..might even be doing it now and don't know...lol. But even a clone of a plant that went hermie in flower will not make that clone a hermie...as long as you fix what made the first one turn...you fix that and you are fine..I have a strain that is sensitive to light leaks, and one that isn't...I can see the difference...I know the light is leaking but it never caused an issue so I never fixed it...then I wanted to try a new strain...and bam...so I started looking and reading, and trying...

Any MJ plant or strain or whatever has the ability to hermie...it is a trait to the plant as a whole...you can't change that...except by keeping any stress you can off of them...but I started my light leak hermie in a manner that it was blocked from the light leak by the not hermie prone one...so the first run didn't hermie, but for it's second run there was no hermie proof plant until it was too late...but who cares...I mean ideally you don't want a plant that hermies with light leaks..I mean they are frequent...but if you fix the light leaks then there should be no further hermie issues...

So here is what I would do...let it finish and any seeds you find treat them right...and maybe it won't hermie the next time...and if it does then it is not a strain for you, but someone else might do just fine with it...

and pulling them off might help a little, but you really can't get them all...and some take a long time to open, while others may sprout and seemingly open within the same day...I enjoy having seeds to plant, which is what I use reg seeds for, but sometimes that isn't the way it works out...so I end up with some more light prone seeds...well I like the first one that is light prone...

update:

so i killed the clones. but ended up keeping her going.
pulled off about 5 more nanner before it finished. it finished yesterday (so it ended up being in week 6 when it first showed nanners)

only found 3 when trimming the tops, the bottoms are still flowering. no pollen was released, i didnt see any seeds.

the other pheno that i kept is my avitar.
