question about lighting

im growing 5 plants in an old computer case and the light if flourescent and its about 6 inches away from the plants maybe a little more. im wondering if that is to far away??

you are gonna need to pick up some 23W CFLs daylight spectrum for max veg. You can keep those lights about 2'' away..You are also gonna want to bring your fluor closer to your plants to prevent stretching.

is a flourescent strong enough to grow a plant to full size?

what kind of fluor is it? You wont get anything huge with just one fluor. It would just be a waste of time.
