Question about large grows and getting away with it.

Ok, I've been reading a few threads on this site, and some of these posts sound unbelievable Some people claim to be having up to 24 plants in a single room. The lightning to go with that must be insane. How do you keep temps down with all those hot HPS bulbs? How do you keep your electricity costs down so the power company doesn't give the DEA a ring?

Also, there's this thing the DEA is using, thermal imaging or something.. Anyway they can take a picture of someones house and they can see where the majority of the light is coming from.

I was also wondering about these outdoor grows, some guys claiming to get over 110 lbs. I'm guessing you just walk somewhere in the forest, plant 200 seeds, water the damn things, and that's it?

If you think about it, if your growing top shelf stuff, you can sell that for at least 2000+ per pound. That's not to bad.

TL;DR

How do you set up a indoor grow, or an outdoor grow for that matter, pull at least 5 lb+ and get away with it?

Well the one rule thats kept me safe: dont tell no smell , if no one knows and your not venting to the nosey nieghbors house.....u lower the risk sugnificantly...sorry bout the spelling..

Growing 5 lbs isnt even a huge grow. Very large extraction fans, a/c, and co2 for heat. FLIR...forward looking infrared radar cannot be used in the states as evidence unless there is already a warrant. Electric use in business zoned areas isnt scrutinized. In residential it depends on who owns the power company...most power companies just want your money.

...I do not suggest this at all as it is illegal and unethical....

In the past i ran a grow house with a friend. We used 14000 watts and grew 99 plants in two rooms. My avatar pic is the smaller room...anyway...we got a friend who is an electrician to wire a 200 amp electrical panel...that circumvented the meter. The power use didmt show up at all. This is what many large grows do.

It is stupid and greedy..not only is it wrong but if caught you are in some big trouble and lots of debt.

Oh and outdoor growing large scale is very labor intensive. My cousin and his crew crop 200-300 lbs a year...its a full time job. you have to set up irrigation , haul dirt, dig holes, feed, protect, and spend a month harvesting and trimming.

Oh and sometimes you will get CAMPED by the feds and lose moths of work.

yup, easy as that! just have a walk in the woods, drop couple hundred beans n water. its that easy! just try for yourself......peace

Funny thing about that.

Would growing outside, let's say in a Colorado Forrest or California one, be worth it? Or do outdoor grows really not work that well due to the DEA and police raiding them?

About that indoor grow. Why did you stop? Did the DEA have their nose on you?

I'm just entertaining the idea of course, but, how big is the risk if you growing 20-30 pounds per year?

Thanks for the replies by the way, great information.

20-30 pounds a year isn't a big grow even for indoors. It is bigger then closet growers. But still small. I say I'm a small grower and have 14x14 room with about 3200w of light and another 800w of other equipment. But the other grows here have full houses set up. So I keep under 99 plants at any time they have 200 in a room. And the outdoor guys range from 3 plants all the way up to 300. Stay state legal and pay your bills and don't talk.
