:wall::wall:Hi everyone! Thanks for making this forum the way it is!!

I have a little issue on my hand let me explain;
I have a 4 inch 200 cfm inline fan connected to a ducting only on top of grow tent to exhaust hot air out (no filter yet its veg time) &
In the bottom I have a ducting fan (100cfm supposedly) but this thing is weaker than a computer fan :wall::wall: its not pulling enough air in from the room next door(air conditioned)

Now my question is should I order a 6 inch 400 cfm with a speed controller to exhaust on top of the tent and put the 4 inch 200 cfm to pull fresh air in and get rid of the duct fan:wall:
My temps with the current set up is about 27 degrees which is in normal range but for flowering I need lower temps and I will be adding a second mars hydro 600 watts led
For flowering.
So should i keep it this way or change?
And if i go with the 400&200cfm set up I think it will be way too loud for my neighbors
Im stuck what can I do helppppp!!!!

So your exhaust fan won't pull fresh air in from lower duct?

I looked into inline fans for my closet grow and decided about the only ones worth a crap were way to big (and noisy) for my 2X2 closet grow. I thought I would need one during summertime due to increased temps but found my LED lights don't put off much heat and wound up added back in the CFL's and shop lights for extra heat that I used during Winter (watts for extra lights about same for small space heater) and I get some fresh air from central air conditioning and have passive exhaust into attic.

I also use a good industrial fan

might try just venting at top (hot air rises) and using the 200 cfm to pull air conditioned air at bottom

.. that sounds like an idea that could work?

When u said pull air conditioned air from the bottom using a 200 cfm fan are you talking about duct fans(booster fans) which like you said you need bigger and that category bigger means way louder or you talking about the new generation of inline fans like vivosun&ipower 4inch or 6inch with a variable speed controller check amazon

These are the two fans im currently using as a passive im using the 200 cfm from vivosun 4inch & at the bottom im using the crappy 4inch duct fan which barely pulls any air from the room next door (1 foot ducting) its like a computer fan my question is should i get a 400 cfm from vivosun& put their 200 cfm one at the bottom considering I will be adding an extra mara hydro 600 to the 600 watts I already own or should i just upgrade to a 200 cfm 6 inch duct fan the crappy ones and replace the bottom duct fan 4inch 100 cfm crappy ashhh:wall::cool:

Yes sir! But the thing is its all about the noise and keeping it minimal so yeah thats the issue I need an efficient ventilation system for my setup that would at the same time be quiet enough for my neighbors upstairs and downstairs:wall:

What about putting an air conditioner in the room with the grow tent? I'm going to put mine in tomorrow
room doesnt have windows its like a hallway connecting the bathroom where the hot air is being exhausted to
And the room I sleep in which is air conditioned and would like something that will pull air from here to my tent with the quitest way possible since I sleep here in this room

Yes upsize to a 6" exhaust, lose the duct booster.
How big is your tent anyway?
Seems like a good solution considering Ill add another 600 watts led lights so it will be 2 600 watts led lights but losing the duc booster and putting the 200 cfm at bottom and a 400 cfm to exhaust will produce a lot of noise Which I want to keep minimal and my tent is 4x4x8 btw forgot to mention that!

You won't have to run them full speed though so it won't be as loud. I would definitely go with a 6" though, especially if you have to watch the odor.

The 4inch at the lowest speed is still loud tho so im imagining the 6inch will be double the speed what do you think do i really need to uprage to keep the temps down since I will have two 600 watts led’s

Yes. Both temps and smell. You can make a sound box for the fans if it's that much of an issue.

Thank you so much for your replies!
Do you know of any tutorials for sound boxes??
There are videos on YouTube for it and threads floating around about it. Just search 'sound box for inline fan'.
It's basically just an insulated box you build out if plywood and put the fan inside.

Lol your good. I was in your shoes a year and a half ago.
Haha only the people that been through it know how it feels thanks man & I only found mufflers and stuff no tutorials about sound boxes where do I get egg foam or plywood?
