I read about this once. I believe one method of creating good, relatively stable feminized seeds is to take a batch of females and stress them by bouncing the light cycle around (exactly how drastically they change it up I don't know) and the ones that turn herm get tossed. The ones which resist the stress and don't pop any nanners get treated with some form of chemical, ie. giberellins, ethylene, ascisic acis, etc. These chemicals cause stress and almost always cause the female to grow male flowers. This pollen is harvested and then usually crossed with another female to produce feminized seeds. If done properly, there is supposedly not much more chance of getting a hermie than from regular seeds. The hermaphrodite gene is pretty inbred in all cannabis so there is always a chance of getting hermies. Nobody can predict all the various combinations of genes and possible phenotype expressions. The possibilities are almost endless.
Sorry, I don't remember where I read about this or how accurate my recollection is so take it for what it's worth.
