Question about hempy

Got a question for people with hempy experience.
Ive been using a F&D system for a cpl yrs now. I've had great results from it, but I've had to run smaller plants due to the height of tent. It's 4x8x7 1/2.
I want to run a longer veg time, do less plants.
My question is, with 1 strain I run finishes in 8wks the other finishes in 7 wks. How big of buckets will I need to do approx 4 to 6 wk veg?.. The BB gets pretty big and limby, the Skunk usually ends up being about a 4ft ball.
Im using 2-600w lights on a light rail.
Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanx folks.

container size imo is proportionate to veg time.
users over in world of hempy will go from clone into 2L , straight to flower , and this is enough root space
others do 3 gallons with a longer veg period same space less plants and achieve similar results
its really up to you and how you like to do it

ok bro these were in 10 litre (3gallon? idk) but they had a ridiculous root system after an extended veg (from clone) and would have maybe been better in 15litre or 20ltr SAM_3268 - Copy.jpg

Thanks Nizza, I wasn't sure on pot size as in relation to a soil grow of same amount of time.
Using the 3gal pots should really give me room for more plants, plus lots more height.
The F&d works great, it's just a pain when running a seperate veg tent. That's why I put my mother plants in soil.
Thanx again.

Wow LGC, sweet looking.
The pic of the Skunk is at 7 wk veg, and she doesn't stretch too much.
The BB is triple her size, and easily doubles or triples during stretch.
Looking to do a perpetual and need more mobility with plants.
Thanx for the info.

Got another question.
I'm running a 4x8x7 1/2 tent with 2-600s. Will the ft print of the lights be enough to cover area? Or should I conti.ue to use light rail?. That would give me an extra ft of vertical space.

IMO light rails are used to create a wider , shorter footprint
since you were going for bushy plants, id make them alternate eachother, so that one is on one side and the other is opposite, this should give the least hot spots
a good rule of thumb is 25-50 watts per square foot

let me turn you onto the CCOB technique that i use to keep my girls under 1' out of the grow pots
combination of UB's 2 top method and then letting it grow out and doing a quick, yet simple and effective training method

Nice, now that's what I call a bush. lol
I've got a bunch of extra cuttings, I'll try with a cpl of them.

yeah the key to that method is the cross he does at the stem and (i think) diagonal transplant
i transplanted mine into center of the pots, and trained it one way (so i can concentrate my small lights) now all the foliage is evening out :( I dont think you're supposed to do this until 18-24"
also if you did take down the movers, you could have less, taller plants, but may need to make your room smaller.
its really up to you but see how hobbes designed his? so he can access both sides and the light is put in the tightest space he could
that's how he got such a high GPW with his technique, and he was able to do all this handicapped (except the build)
i think it would be cool to double his dimensions, and do the two movers opposing, but height would be even more of an issue with an added air floor for you (unless this method works for u)
a way around this is suspending pots in mid air, over catcher trays, with oscillating fans flowing towards the root areas

Cool, the bb I'm running likes a lo.ger veg time to really produce. They say in an outdoor grow it will produce up to a Kg. Most I've gotten indoor on it is 8 1/2 dried.
Well off to work, check back in this evening.
Thanx everyone.
