Do plants always grow slow the first week of growth?

I just feel like it's not growing as fast as some. Granted, it's only a week old, but I have the environment perfect and I am doing everything the same as last time. However, my last grow was during the summer, so the humidity was higher. Right now my humidity is about 40% with the aid of a humidifier.

I am assuming that the first week of growth has to do with root growth... Is this right? I could just be impatient and paranoid that it's not going to work right this time... I have done research, but so many things pop up, it's hard to get a clear answer.

Any information is welcome and wanted!

The plant is growing roots. More roots= stronger growth.

You have a long wait.
If the plant isn't really growing upwards, but the little leaves are gradually getting bigger, then your on track, give it another week or so and then you'll get into the vegative state, which moves along a bit quicker.

Well, that makes me feel better! Thanks for the info!! I was just curious because I have seen 2 week old plants that are monsters. My last plants seemed to be bigger at a week old... But that was only my first grow and maybe I am just not remembering correctly.
