question about driving with

howdy.

i told a friend that i could carry 2.5 oz with me and not have a problem with the cops. i would always carry less though, i don't need some clown adding up the bag or ball jar weight too. lol

he hates driving with pot and he asked what would happen if he, a non card holder, was pulled over and the cops saw the 2 oz or so i had. i told him that i was pretty sure that as long as i declared that it was mine (i would have it on my person), that there would be no penalty for him.

does this sound right? what would happen if it was in a little suitcase but i still declared it as mine? he's concerned.

i want to go into the mountains with him to hopefully meet an old time grower (i'm calling him old time so he's been growing for awhile :) ), he knows. i tried a joint of this guy's stuff and holy moly i'm in love. it's a solid 8 maybe a 9. it has no name, he's using seeds from the great bag stuff he bought in the olden days. just my kind of guy.

I would think you would be just fine personally as long as there is no identifier of ownership on the bag or container (person's name on it lol).

You should be fine dude as long as you claim the shit to be yours.. I'd still bring that shit in a jar though to prevent any odors.

I am not a lawyer, but i agree with BeaverHntr. You are allowed to carry 2.5 ounces - period.

if i had it in my suitcase/overnight bag, i'd label it with my name just to make my new best bud comfortable. he has a regular job on top of owning some rental properties and has a lot to lose. his wife would kill me if he got in trouble. lol

what i want to do is get a couple OZ from his friend in exchange for a couple of mine. exchange some seeds if he's willing to share. i don't like going places, but for 2 oz of what i smoked, just tell me when we're leaving. and he said that the guy always has a few different kinds of smoke around. sounds familiar. :)

the baggie company made thousands off me over the years. i love my ball jars. :)

thats how my state mmj program works. didnt u get rules with your card
rules? i don't remember reading anything. all i remember was getting the card, letting out a little whoop of joy and rolling a fattie.

yeah that's the way i read it too but i wanted to make him comfortable with the idea.

i worked with rules, regs and statutes for 20 plus years. it's remarkable how lawyers and politicians can twist something that a resonable person would think says one thing, into something completly different. this little experiment of ours is still under assault and i put nothing past the bastards.

thanks guys.

One more step of security would be keep it out of reach. In the trunk. They can't accuse you of driving and smoking.
I was going to say the same thing. I'll put myself out there and let you know that I got a DUI last year driving drunk. So these group sessions ordered by the court are made up of all DUIs, mostly alcohol, but a surprising amount of marijuana DUIs with many of these people (non-patients mind you) not even being high on the same day they got busted (their words of course). Conversation with the counselor about MMJ laws and driving paints a not so pretty picture for patients. I think there is a reason the assholes at AZ DHS added a line to the back of our $150 green cards that reads "Possession of this card does not provide legal protection."

it is a fine line. there is no standard test to tell if you are too high to drive, but what i've read somewhere, i think at adhs, is that you have to be pretty much in the bag, as in you appear to be unable to safely operate a vehicle. they may even perform drunk type tests. walk in a straight line, count backwards, etc.
and you're probably better off not smoking in the car. they smell burnt pot, they'll fuck with you.

i know how high i used to get and drive and yeah, i should not have been driving, i don't do that anymore. age, wisdom, paranoia...it adds up. :)

it's simple, if you drive fucked up, don't be surprised or act all butt hurt and whiny if you get busted.

It may be overkill but, I have always traveled with mine in jars locked in a lockbox that's attached to the inside of my center console. I've gone through "pit stops" and have always been fine. As a legal card holder, I still roll like I'm dirty. Lol
