question about adding more GH Flora Series nutes to reservoir that already has nutes

I just upgraded my reservoir from 25 gallons to 55 gallons and without thinking, I added my nutrients using my measurements for my old 25 gallon reservoir which leaves my 55 gallon reservoir just under half strength.

My question is since I have all my nutrients and supplements in my new 55 gallon reservoir measured to my old 25 gallon reservoir, can I add the other half of nutrient solution to my reservoir for full strength?

I know I have to add flora micro first to fresh water but was wondering if it would be safe to add my other half of nutrient measurements to my reservoir to make it the full strength. The Flora Micro worries me since it states to add to first...

Is this really a serious question?

You want to know if its ok to add more nutes to your reservoir?

How else are you going to check and adjust levels every 24hours with your digital testing meters if you can't add more nutrients???

If you have anything that says to add first just add it to some fresh water before dumping it in.

Yeah, you are supposed to add the micro first, so i know why your asking what your asking. But don't trip. Just add to your rezy, you'll be all right.I used the flora series for years, and never had any lock out from doing this. If you really want to be a stickler: mix up the micro with a gallon of water first, then add to rezy. like jondamon mentioned. Unnecessary though, just sayin.
The main thing you don't ever want to do, is add the micro to either of the other two in concentrated form. Lockout will happen. Don't ever do that

Is this still working out for you with no lockout? I just mixed a batch of nutes (noob here) and it came out to half strength. I added more nutes, in sequence from micro to bloom. Took out about a half gallon of nute mix and added micro to it, then dumped it back into the rez while mixing. I followed the same procedure for gro and bloom. It makes sense that it's really no different then upping nutes in a hydro system when not doing water changes.

Like I had said in that post way back then, I used the flora series for years and know it well.
How much micro did you add to a half gallon? And why did you take out a half gallon of nutes to add the micro? Even safer, to avoid lockout, would have been to just add the additional micro to the whole nute mix you already had mixed up. Mixed that in and then add the other 2. But probably didn’t affect much unless you added a shit load of micro to that half gallon.

Btw if you look at any of the flora series feed charts that are out there, use one that doesn’t use more than 15ml per gallon of the 3 parts combined. That 15ml total is half strength of the original formula that used to be on the bottles ;-) and 15ml/gal is what I found to be the sweet spot for most setups.

Thanks for your reply! I ended up just mixing up new solution.

Your point about adding macro to the half gallon of nute mix makes sense. Less volume of water.

I will definately keep the 15ml per gallon ratio in mind. Thanks for that tidbit of knowledge.
