of course its gonna deal stress but really for every week its into flowering, thats gonns set u back another week in veg and its 18/6 btw...
anyways.. what i did was funny...i turned my light on 18/6 for about 4 weeks, and accidently turned my lights on for 12/12 showing a friend something and forgot about it for like 3 days, turned it back to 18/6 and in 2-3 days after that they show'd pistols and b.b's

I have read else where, that lower hours of light help the male female ratio. i cant complain. its worked so far.....no males. but I want to have a mother plant, So that I can take cones and flower those. So if its stunted a little thats fine. and since i only have 1 grow box with 2 area's (veg/flower) and its not completely light sealed yet between the two. Cuz someone didnt measure twice before he cut the wood. I cant grow my LR2 seeds i have

no i have yet to get males. I got my seeds from the good Dr Chronic. I ordered 20 LR2, 10 Nirvana AI. And the good doc sent me 10 DR Chronic revenge 2....(they are a little more stable than the original), and 10 Bogs Original lifesaver f2's for free! they took 7days from the day I ordered to get to me in Texas.

From My Experiences I wouldn't want to ever stress my plants unless it's for recovery. Lighting should stay tacked with a timer once it has sprouted and found light. More light is always good I use alot of cfl's because I can have my fan on low and my plants love it. I Just keep it clean and everything around the scheduled nutes to watering when crusty dry. When flowering though goto 12/12 and switch to some AUTMN Lighting 2700k and 3600s I wouldn't start 12 and 12 as a beginner Go with 18/6 Works with 6500ks and 5500ks for vegging GOOD Way great for me every time. I use Fox Farm Nutes NON Chemicals. Good Luck and have fun

Dont worry man, I've got my exp. and whenever I am dealin with seeds, its not worth the wait to let them grow so big and throw them away. Once they at least have 6-8 sets of leafs (maybe some branching dep. on strain) throw them in the bud room, or change light. After a couple of days(3-7) you will see sex glands. Last time I used seeds I got 16 females and 4 males. Your exactly right and I have done the process before and it works. The stress on the plant is true, takes 2-5 days for the plants to react to change and have growth spurts again. Hope this helps.

Well, when plants are vegging they will use all the light you give them. This means you give a plant 24/0 lights they are constantly photosynthesizing or growing. If just give them 18 hours light then they get 6 hours of darkness during this darkness they are using all that glucose or......sugar to grow. So to answer your question, I don't know. I mean does having a dark period increase the usage of the glucose, and therefore making the plant grow even during the dark....
