Bulbs vary greatly by manufacturer.... Afaik... no HID has 99.9% power efficiency (power factor of 999/1000... not even CLOSE... order of magnitude). Hortilux makes high-quality grow bulbs.

don;t know what ur saying.just posted because i have never seen a dimmer on a ballast.and the fact i paid 199.+43 for shipping and got the light, reflector, ballast, etc.i couldn't go wrong.i can always buy a new blub if this one sucks ass.

The grow show just down the road is getting a few of these. He ran over the specs and my jaw just dropped. I learned something, because I did not know that you could dim a HID light source. I went home, and read about it and learned that it was very do-able. However, I wonder why we have not seen this much yet? I can see why I might do it for heat reasons (hot day, 800w would be easier to cool than 2000w) but then again, I'd rather hire an electrician and get a good AC Installed.

thanks for the input...thinking an upgrad to the a/c unit.or a window unit...

HURRY UP AN WAIT....damn fedex guy,i hate waiting for him some times he is here at 9:00am and some time 4:00pm.can't wait to see this thing

haha im jealous because ur lights are color coded, but we have the same temp gauge, ur plants are really gonna love that 600watter!

I think I'm going to get one of these for a single stage setup. It seems logical to simply step up your power consumption as your plants are actually going to use the extra energy. I wonder, though, is there any loss in effeciency when running on a dimmed setting?

so i just look on ebay and i cant find the 199.00 one anymore they all went up or its just not on ebay right now. did u get it from MGS supply? and hows it workin brah

workin good ballast staying NICE AN COOL.my 400 watt is hotter then the 600.i did get it form ebay at msg supplys

ya my bad i just found it but i dont see the difference in these and umm do u have to have a conversion bulbs or will just a Metal Halide work? cuz i will more than likely use it mostly for veg and maybe some flowering with a HPS during the winter er sumthing the ballasts looks insane

PPL ON EBAY DO THAT ALL THE TIME.SOME PPL DON'T LOOK FOR THE GOOD DEALS.THEY JUST BUY.but ppl like me with take 30mins out of my day and find the good ebay deal.thats the only diffrence.
