Quantum dimmable ballast???

Hey guys, I've been using the quantum 600 watt dimmable ballasts, you can run these ballasts at 50-75-or 100 percent power. I like these ballasts a lot and I got mine off ebay for like 190 bucks no tax, and free shipping.

Anyways, I am wondering how much better off I would be using a dimmable 1000 watt ballast at 75 percent power vs a 600 watt at 100 percent power. Would the extra 150 watts produce a significant amount of extra light or would it be prettt much the same as a 600??? I have no idea how you would compare other than just setting em side by side and seeing which looks brighter.

a 1k watt would definitely put out more lumens than a six hundred watter... but on a side note, six hundies put out the most amount of lumens per watt over any other watt, which makes them very nice..
i have been looking at those dimeable ballasts, how do you like them? have you had any issues with them as of yet?

Yeah I really like the dimmable ballasts. I have two 600 watters. Since no one makes a 600 watt metal halide, I have just been putting a 400 watt halide in the 600 watt ballast and run the ballast at 50 to 75 percent, seems to work fine. Of course I only do this for veg and the first couple weeks of flower. Does anyone else continue to use halides into the first couple weeks of flower? I have found that doing this seems to eliminate some of the stretching.
