Look at the cost of most leds that have this much output. Let alone at this efficiency...... You have to run 1825s at 50-60 watts each to get to these numbers. The question is can you DIY a light more efficient for much less? Simple answer no. sure if you play your cards right you might get by saving 75-100 bucks.

It would be 25 lumens per watt more efficient. It would pull 90-100 watts less and still produce more light.
Wow interesting.............will have to add up the cost and compare to the DIY cob light.

The SCROG guys should be all over these boards you can get so much closer to the canopy and less heat issues at least that what it seems like from the information I have read.

I haven't stated it before but my 600 watt light with the pin sinks is dumping a good amount of heat into my tent. It's cooler to work on the HPS side lol......

Yeah and in the reflector is just as intense as a 1000 watt hps. Whatever that's worth lol.

This is my intention with my 2 board setup in a 2x2

No it is not, intensity is not a cumulative quantity, it's a quantity determined by the initial value of a single point object divided by the distances . You don't add all the diodes together to get a value, you would want to hang that 10-12 inches from canopy, 1000w hps should be hung 24+ inches.

Example: You measure 10.0 lm/m² from a light bulb at 1.0 meter. What will the flux density be at half the distance?

Solution:
E1=(d1/d2)²*E2
E0.5 m=(1.0/0.5)²*10.0 = 40 lm/m²

This is one of the biggest problems with LEDs, people just make up claims out of no where, no quantum board will have the intensity a 1000w hps will have, i seen that guy with the next light have his plants within a few inches, no way you can do that with a HPS. It might grow more weed than a HPS if you scrog or have your plant canopy trained well so distance to light won't be an issue, the only way to get this thing to be more intense is with optics, and then you make hot spots.

So now you are telling me that the par meter was lying to me right there in the store huh. The owner took the the readings at the canopy level which was 3' away. Look at my previous statements about it. Please stop already like I said before someone believes you...... I'll leave you with this. A 1000 watt bulb is a 360° device so only 90° or roughly 25% of the light is direct and the rest is bounced off the reflector making 75% of the light not point source so how is it more intense again?

I'll make a video next week so you can see it live for your own two eyes.

This is very different from a next light. #1 540 watts from basically 4sq feet vs nextlight 650 watts and 9 sq ft. #2 a hps can't be ran closer because of the intensity of the infra red heat that isn't present in LED.

What law are you quoting for this? Unlike you i don't just say physics i show the actual proven laws of physics i used. I would like to know an actual factual source you learned this info from and not your opinion.

This is your opinion , you have not cited any actual physics just your own opinion. and you can run HID lights closer if you air condition the area, but at a certain put they will bleach your plants, it has happened to me has nothing at all to do with inferred , you guys are grasping at straws and have no factual information or cited sources you just blab out your opinion with nothing to back it up. I have cited actual laws of physics to back me up and websites to cite my sources.
