bacillus thuringiensis israelensis. it's a bacteria that is toxic to mosquito and fungus gnat larvae. it's the active ingredient in mosquito dunks, mosquito bits, gnatrol, microbe lift, etc..What is BTI please?

The one (possible) issue I can see is if you introduce critters into your space they might in turn attract others. It's creating/extending a food chain which is not really a good idea imo.

i see yah earth wouldnt stop them from getting in to that thats what they did to me when i ran 5 gal buckets they just went down to the holes. But i noticed through watering it washed down into the media and after a few weeks no more flyers by the holes but this was fungus gnats not root aphids i was battling i assume it would do the same

First, always make sure you get coco/soil/rock/cubes or any medium from a reputable source. No exceptions.
The first thing you want to do, is buy sticky yellow gnat cards inside of a holder that can be placed right above the soil. The ADULT flying aphids will get stuck, ending their shit of a life... (cocksuckers). You will be astonished at the THOUSANDS of them that you had no clue existed. This will limit the number of eggs being layed.
You want to make sure you are changing the cards once they fill up, some people don't and it slows the process.
Misinformation is brutal. You CAN'T get rid of aphids that have already infested a rootball, It's impossible. You can only hinder the scale of their reproduction.
DE is great for helping slow the flyers from being able to get out one they evolve, however they can still get in through drainage. You must also apply DE everytime you water, as it does wash away. (Not practical for coco)
You can't kill them, you can only prevent them and control them.

Also, ladybugs wil not eat flying aphids. They eat the aphids that are in the mite stage crawling on the edges of pots/reservoirs.

My new regiment is sterilizing new bagged soil then reintroducing benies. I'm then doing a weekly application of Nematodes and BTI and adding Ladybugs as needed.
