I have a limited area to grow about 3 feet by 3 feet. I have grown two nice plants in this area with CFLs. Should I again go with two (or more plants) or should I instead concentrate all my lights and space on one plant? I have a few plants, but will decide on who lives after I start flowering.

Thanx

If you can get a 400 watt hps light or 600 then youd be goldern. 600 watt digital ballast with mh and hps bulb with air cooled tube shipped on ebay for like $160 then you could do few different ways quadruple or more your yield in less time. Cost maybe $20 a month to run a 400 watter

topping is cutting above first true node to get to tops or above 2nd true node to get 4 tops. fim is "fuck i missed" which is not very reliable and from what i have read topping is the way to go. search the user uncle ben goes into great detail about this. and its the method i will use. and lst is low stress training which is where you tie it down to make an even canopy look it up reading is your friend.

Thank you for your input, but...

The first time I grew CFL was about thirty years ago. I was working in an office and I planted a seed in with another potted plant. I noticed the seedling grew towards the light. Eureka! I thought. And I started growing in closets with cheap flourecent light fixtures with bag seed..

I never figured out how to bud a plant. I would pick and smoke the leaves as they got old. I would pinch and smoke the flowers every third tier. I'd have these bonzi looking plants lasting six to nine months giving me a couple doobies every day or so. I was happy.

Now, you youngsters have CFLs and the internets and seed breeders, and still you want more? I just want to grow enough to last a couple three years or so, without burning down the house. I got my medical MJ permit (cough cough) good for one year. The CFLs I use will eventually be put to use in the house when I'm done growing. I've done it before.

Excellent resources, TY. I tried to look up FIM and TOp, but there were hundreds of threads of which I did read a few. None of which had anything to do with pruning.

About topping (and FIM), I can see where that would increase the colas when using one light source. But the beauty of CFLs is that you can stick them anywhere and everywhere. Couldn't a grower get big fat ones by concentrating light on the lower branches?
