Qrazy Train from seed

Pulled the trigger and ordered a portable ac unit. Trying to get ready for running both lights at comfortable temps. I put a metal halide bulb in the other hood and I've been turning that on once in a while and making a arc between the hoods and put the plants in the middle of the tent. Temps usually get to 83 unless I have the main house a/c on and that won't work out so well in the winter just in case I needed it, hopefully not though.

Yeah, i've been looking into getting a portable AC once winter comes around it's going to be really very cold. I'm using a window unit right now but my tent is in my bedroom, so come winter it's going to drop like 50 degrees in my bedroom lol portable AC sounds much better.

Its worth the investment bro's. If you don't have a window to hang an AC out of portable is next best thing :) Plus they don't freeze up if you run em in the winter if you have to since the air is being sucked from the room instead of outside air.

Its day 21 for the vortex's so tomorrow morning I am going to start putting the 2 tallest Kabooms in the 2x4 tent for darkness during the day. The Qrazy Trains are 2 days behind the Kabooms but are not nearly as big as the Kabooms with one exception being the tall QT. The Kabooms first 2 sets of nodes are getting long enough I can start tucking them under the leaf that accompanies them. I might put the tall QT in with the Kabooms to start sexing and then give the others a few more days if not till Friday.

So I went about solving the issue of having the ballasts out in the open. I built a box around them and the outlet itself. The filtered outlet from the tent is fed through the bottom of the box and then runs up a channel where the ballasts are, keeping them cool to the touch. That air then goes to where the lights have their exhaust. I also put a remote thermometer in with the ballasts to keep a eye on temps. Seems to be working well. The key lock I put on it is not holding the doors 100% shut so im going to put another slide lock closer to the bottom for the last couple of mm's.

So I put the non sexing plants into 3 gallon pots two days ago and since then their main stalks have thickened up noticeably. Still havnt seen any indications of sex from the sexing plants I assume in the next few days it will happen then Ill re-pot them into either 3 gallons or the final 5 gallon. The #1 Qrazy train is still in a 1 gallon but will be re-potted today into a 3 gallon. Also not sure what Im going to do with the fringe leaf Kaboom whether or not to keep it and give it a shot if it is a female. Itll depend on how many clones I take from the actual female plants I get. The 2nd nodes are big enough to start training to get this mainlining business started on the sexing plants.

Have you noticed how indica looking the Kabooms are for how sativa dominant they are? mine really started off so short and squat and super broad leaves.

The kabooms seem to be growing balls, I inspected them earlier and I am pretty sure on ones 4th node up and the others top nodes are growing pollen sacs. Their tiny but I'm sure by tonight I'll know for sure they do most of their work in the dark room.

they must be stressed out...have you set in the room and let your eyes adjust? i bet there is a light leak...last christmas, i had a small red light from a dehumidifier cause a little stress around 4-5 of flowering...must push on through...temp swings? that can be a source of stresss

No the sexing tent is completely sealed and the other tent is on 20/4 off. Don't think there's much stress going on just got some males. Ive always had good luck getting females but getting multiple males was bound to happen eventually. Just the way of the road.

The lonesome Kaboom that wasnt being sex'd and has been in 20/4 light has grown the beginning of pollen sacks. I think that plant got the short end of the stick when it came to genetics, just one of those freaks. It happens. So We now have 2 confirmed males for the kabooms. The last one that is sexing is taking its sweet time along with the Qrazy Train. The other Qrazy Trains in the 20/4 tent are growing but now ready quite yet for 12/12 to weed out the males.

There was one more grown out a bit at the base of the plant as well that was actually starting to hang freely.

No big deal just have to pop some timewreck if needed.
