QB, strip LEDs or COBs?

HLG-320H-C700B
or
ELG-200-C700B

are examples for some drivers.

EDIT:
Have a look into this thread -> https://www.rollitup.org/t/bridgelux-eb-series-on-a-2-x-4-scrog.943414/page-4#post-13635020
Most important his comment about designing the correct spacing.

And what I ment some posts ago was, that you want to have as many little light scources as possible, so you habe 0 shadows, because ligt coming out of every direction. So depending on your budget, you want to take as many strips as possible, and run than as soft as necessary, for great coverage. The F strips are so powerful, that designing a panel with EB (cheap less efficient) or H (costy but pretty efficient) strips makes more sense to me.

I'm starting to realize just how spendy this field of interest can be.

I'll look into all this. I'm just trying to get my head around prices and what's what with the strips thing before I get my tax back.

"My current grow space has an area off the side that's a foot wide. And about a foot and a half deep. Height wise it's about 2.5-3 feet.

I want to make that space into a germination to sapling chamber. Something to start my next rounds. Before moving them to the bigger area."

Just remembered what you wanna do... so maybe 6x 1' at 350mA with 50W?

Edit:
What about ELG-75-C350B? You can adjust a little with the build in poti, and atleast 9 strips should work (check datasheet to confirm) wih maximum of 75W.

I saw what you meant in that other post. How he corrected the intensity in the middle by spacing them further at center point. Then closer together towards the edges.

Actually I will do exactly this build what I mentioned for my four mother plants, same grow size. 9x 1' strips with ELG-75-C350B, but only on full power, when I need cuttings.

If you are building a light for a veg closet I can second that the 5000k bridgelux eb strips are cheap and easy. I recently built a veg light out of the 22" strips and it kicks ass. Arrow has free worldwide shipping if you spend $20.

Edit: i just remembered i ordered my eb's from digikey. Heres the link<<

If you are thinking about building a flowering lamp i would consider the sol-skin board from cutter electronics. They are brand new so no trials or grow journals yet but they look awesome. Read about them here if you havent already.

I'll check Cutter's stock to see if I can find a driver that'll run those 6 EB strips. Digikey was a nightmare to work out their refined search. Put in any more than 3 paramiters and I get nada.

I was thinking of using the 4000k strips. Nice balance of red and blue.

If you're going to go through all of that, you'd might as well bite the bullet, go cob, and get it over with.

I have been considering a single cob in there. But, at the same time. I wanted to have light come out more uniform. Rather than from a single point.

I just made a veg light with 5630 led 16.4ft 72w per roll 23-25lm per diode 240 diodes per panel 6000k-6500k strips. Used 24 ft on (2) 6"×12" .064 6061 aluminum. 20"×12" frame. Being driven on a 12v 180w 15amp dimmable led power supply. Im all about diy and this lil thing is cool. Trying it out over my cfls. The space is a 2x2 i also have a 80w diy 3000k-3500k smd led and cob chips light on a 1/4" 6061 aluminum panel that fits right in the middle of the frame. I have the lights on its lowest setting at the moment. At full power it is bright as all hell. I do have additional blurple 5050 strip lights i could supplement on the wall with as well 20170702_010308-1.jpg20170702_122933.jpg 20170702_185343_Burst01.jpg 20170702_121838.jpg

Uniformity talk, but it's in a 1.5'? Threw me off.
Just 1cob, or x4 screw in led spot light bulbs.
I like the Sylvanias w/ optics. 15-17w each.
i was guna go that route before building the new light. I wouldnt use no less than the 11w led. Those 15w ones i was looking at are really nice. Prob need atleast a 4 pack.

I'm running 12 14w bulbs in my 2x2 veg closet. Doing very well actually. Better than the 250 watts of cfl that was on there previously.

Not just that but the heat was insane with cfls i have 4x 65w 6500k ones and only use 2 for veg. Need major airflow and ventilation with those

Any Pics? Sounds like a cool setup. I've been tryna come across some other peoples diy lights. I have (2) 4 bulb vanity fixtures and was thinking of using those prior
