I have a 60CFM fan and made a diy carbon filter that has an inner core of 400 square cm surface (64 square inches surface). How thick should the core be so that it filters the smell, but i keep atleast 24 CFM going ?- i have serious heat issues if not vented properly.
I searched the internet and found no answer so sorry if this question has been asked before. Going to post pictures tomorow of the DIY filter.

best way to take care of heat issues is ventilation you need a carbon fan/filter and some sort of intake..

I was hoping you knew some way to calculate the drag created by the carbon. I.E. mathematically decide how big to make the filter.

cud i just put the carbon in my grow room or has the air got to be sucked through a filter to work, i was thinking about putting the activated carbon in some sort of ball and hanging them around the grow room but havnt got a clue if this would eliminate the smell,, cant really find anything on any search engines about it either.

im not sure but if you can some how just hang them in like tights or pantyhose and they filter out the smell somehow that will make everything so much easier

you need to push air THROUGH the carbon filter, not just hang a bunch of carbon stockings . Truth is, you might not even need the filter, some plants aren't that stinky,

Ok, do you pump air through a carbon filter and let it recirculate in your room? Or do you vent it out of the room? How well do carbon filters work?
