Q about cuttings and yellowing leaves

i got 12 NL13 cuttings from a buddy of mine 6 days ago. all leaves were nice and green when he gave them to me. since i got them, i cut the stem at 45*, put in root gel, then into a starter plug, then into a humidome and sprayed with ph'd h2o. i have 2-4' 6500k (brand new bulbs) t8 bulbs, 24/7, and about 6-8" above. them. i also have them sitting on a heat mat with a towel between them. i need the heat mat and my basement temps are 65*, as well as inside my tent. i soaked the plug medium in thrive alive 1 (red) (1ml/2 liter of water) per technoflora (1/4 strength). http://www.htgsupply.com/Product-Technaflora-Recipe-For-Success---Starter-Kit.asp

im getting some yellowing of some of the leaves. im wondering if i can just cut the yellowing leaves off, or if its a nute deficiency? i also bought a 25 site aerocloner that just showed up today. im wondering if i should move them from their current plug/humidome location and into the cloner or leave well enough alone. i do have a nute starter kit from tenhnafloura. i mist the cuttings 2-3x a day with just ph'd h2o. i havent noticed any roots poking out the bottom of the plug medium yet.

thanks everyone.

Yellowing is nornal for cuttings, do not remove any leaves till they're dead.

I've done better with my home made bubbler that I did with a dome......so, it's just me, but I'd move them.

-and- What do you mean by a starter plug?

Good luck.

starter plugs, basically like these
http://www.htgsupply.com/Product-Rapid-Rooter-Replacement-plugs.asp

cool, ill make the transition from dome to clone machine in a little bit. did you put any additives in the water, or ph water only? 24/7 on the lights, or should i step down to 18/6. should i remove the starter plug from the clone and just have the clone in the foam disc and net pot, or just the foam disc?

thanks again, appreciate the help. rep+ given!

Only additive I use for cloning is a water treatment, some people use H2O2 (I had limited success) so I now use DNF HydroSparkle. Keeps all the nasties like slime out of the water.
Mine are running 24/7 under 39w of 3000K CfL's, the light schedule is up to you. Yes I ph my water.

Sorry, but I kinda missed the 6 day part. I honestly can't say whether or not to remove the plug, roots might be already growing. If you do, don't pull out the clone (voice of experience), but rather wash away the plug...very gently.

I keep my cuttings in the foam collars till they have a couple inches of roots, then I move them into 3in net pots with hydroton, etc...

Only other thing that comes to mind right now is, change out the water a bit more often than recommended, again to help keep the nasty things at bay.

Have fun.

thanks again. ive got some regent a root additive for hydro to keep roots healthy. ill add 1ml/liter of h2o per bottle. ill just keep the starter medium ]the cuttings are currently in, then put them in the net pots and collars. better safe than sorry. since my basement ambient temps are 65* (consistant), inside tent temps are 72* (consistant), i bought a water heater for the cloning bucket with an operating 78* heat temp. this should be good for the cold basement.

much appreciative Hugo!!!!

i tell you what, this is the fun part of growing, well besides harvesting monster plants and drying/curing and smoking the end result. its the loosing 4 out of 6 beans that really upset me a while ago. i almost gave up and went back to just buying my meds vs growing my meds. buying is less stressfull and not as agrevating.....unless you get some bunk meds. but growing in more rewarding...i imagine.

thanks for all the help. i added 8ml of regent a root to 2 gallons of 6.3ph'd water to the cloner machine. rearranged everything under the light. i also added the water heater to the cloner machine. my other water res is 63*, so this heater kicks it to 78*.

thanks again for the help!!!!

Cheapest and best for rooting. Kelp and aloe vera. Aloe is free off a plant . Sometimes I add silica if I'm make a rooting tea, and have green sand in stock.

I root into straight soil in party cups.No plugs. Using fresh aloe vera gel as cloning gel. Put cups in a tray and dome. Have lots of roots in 7 days everytime. 100% .

Just thought I'd let you know, a couple of people on another thread swear by plain tap water. Doesn't have to be ph adjusted because clones don't need nutes just water, and tap water has chlorine so no treatment needed....or so they say. I'm giving it a try...time will tell.

ive used tap for the germing of the seeds. then always switched to pd'd water. all the cuttings were looking great, nice green color. now im back to having some yellowing issues. im not too worried about these cuttings. my (old CG) called me and said i have 10 cuttings just put in RR and will be ready for me in a week or two. these have been what ive been waiting for, pineappple express :) awesome smoke!!!! so ill use these cuttings as a learning process. when i get the PE cuttings, ill pay it forward on the NL13 cuttings i have to someone local in the MOCC. the NL13 are rooting nicely for a only having them 9 days.

i also put another t12 6500k light fixture in the tent. the clones and cuttings have a light and the seedlings have their own light. which btw, are looking GREAT!!!!!!! about time those finally took off.
