Pussy Plants Cant Stand Up

Hello all,
This is my first post here as well as my first grow. I encountered my first problem and am stumped. I have about 15 plants going about 1 week old and day 3, once they were germinated, I put them in a bunch of pete pellets that you buy from walmart and water and they expand. The first 24 hrs they were in there, they shot up an inch and a half. Then next day another inch. I notice that when I take the clear plastic lid off, within 30 min, half the plants start laying down. I dont understand this, I dont want them to die. Please help. Pics are in attachments.

the title of this thread made me die laughing.

your light is sorely inadequate. dare i ask what your using? whatever it may be it needs to be closer to the plants, as close as you can get it w/o burning the plants.

give them a couple days man. they are the most vulnerable that they will be right when you germinate them. they are developing thick stems as we speak. almost every seed ive germinated does this. i wouldnt worry too much about it unless they stay like that for a week. if you really want to just stake them up with a toothpick, but i wouldnt tamper with em just yet.

You may need something longer than toothpicks. Id say some bamboo skewers should work fine.
And yeah man what lights are you using? How many?
Good luck man ask any questions you have.

every seed? ive only had it happen with one grow, it was my first grow a decade ago with a incandecent bulb. ever since then ive had adequete light and seedlings with 3 sets of leaves by the time they were 2 inches tall.

its probably because i germinate my seeds in a glass of water in a dark place to make sure seeds are viable before putting them in media. like one of you said too much water can do this (soaked in a glass of water), as can inadequate light (in a bathroom cupboard). maybe i should change my ways i guess. but, my plants have always turned out fine after they have been under light for a few days so i dont see a need to.
