Purple? Strain or Growing Process?

juuuuwan purple max? nights in the low 40's...purples turn slate black....I just hit the grandad (and bubba) with sub's deep purple pollen...6 wks. and we'll have seeds...the grandad is obviously one of the parents of purple kush...any doubts were laid to rest the second I touched her!...MAN! that's like double the purple smell of erkel, or purple haze...it leans more to the purple haze smell, than the grapey erkel-at least while it's growing. the d.p./bubba is a homemade new purple kush(1st. step)...I'm sure it'll take a few generations and outcrosses to get what I want- a purple kush that has firepower, and less couchlock.

I haven't read the thread, just wanted to mention a purple plant from my last grow - I had 2 Big Laughing (one in pro-mix and one in hydro), the buds from the pro-mix grow finished a lush green and the Hydro were a dark purple (all of the leaves turned purple too).

I was using Overdrive on each and put 30 ML Overdrive per gallon, rather than the 10 ML on the directions, in the hydro bucket. The Soilless got 15 ML per gallon. There was good trich production in the hydro plant but I didn't see any significant increase in trich production when comparing the Big Laughing pro-mix with it's hydro counterpart, to a Kali Mist set I'm growing side by side now, with equal Overdrive doses for each. I've used Purple Maxx often in the past (not anymore) and have never gotten a completely purple plant like this. Not an effect I care about but cool none the less.

That being said, large doses of Overdrive (3X) caused all the buds and leaves to turn purple on a plant that normally finishes green. And it didn't appear to stress the plant.

the temp def does do the trick. dont think my strain has any real purple traits but last winter my garden stayed way cool at night and almost all sugar leaves and parts o the buds turned purp, while my grow buddys got the same strain and hes got hi temps and never seen any purp.. it got warmer the last few weeks and alot of the beautiful
purp went away. do i have to post pics or can u look at my profile?

there are definately purple strains but red strains may come up purple if the temps drop before harvesting. Castewalpha that is a beautiful plant my man god bless you

Hey ziggy, saw you grow GDP... i'm about to turn my entire grow over to it, any special needs for this strain? If you did hydro what were your PPMs kept at?
