purple stem

The kid isn't lying.. I read into the whle purple stem thing like CRAZY.. actually, mine were brownish at first, when they started up as seedlings into their first week or so.. and turned purple over time... I SWEAR TO YOU IT IS GENETIC (unless the purple spreads to the veins of the leaves, then hit me up, and I'll tell you to add a little PHOSPHATE BITCH) I say bitch a lot, out of love. But dude, I thought the problem was deficiency, it isn't, leave it alone, it's perfectly normal, you're fine, I've seen it in TONS of grows, means nothing. NOTHING

I have 2 skunk/hybrids going right now both about 2 feet tall and the newer nodes and growth is purple, turns green after a couple days.

If the trunk is purple, you have a nute problem. I am 100% on this, your trunk should never be purple

cold temps can cause it too, but if your holding between 75-80 then your ok, these guys are all correct 99% of the time it is part of the plants phenome and if it is a hybrid chances are there is some NL in it which definatly has a purple phenome. dont sweat it.

Wow a lot of you guys are talking straight out of your ass's, either because you dont really know what you are talking about or you want to like like you DO know what you are talking about even though you dont.

PURPLE STEMS ARE most likely a Nitrogen or even a magnesium deficiency. If the plant is grown indoors there is even a chance it could be sulfur (unlikely). I have my growers bible here by Jorge Cervantes and I trust/recommend this book, plus I KNOW purple stems are caused by deficiencies 99% of the time from personal experience.

anyways peace guys and stop tryign to help someone when you dotn know what the hell you are talking about, it usually makes things worse. :wall:

Cold temps usually cause purpling of the leaves not stems.

Not luck....The plant will do fine with some slight deficiencies but it wont grow and produce to its FULL potential. I am not going to disagree with a growing legend like Jorge and all the guys he works with according to him...MOST of the time purple stems are due to a deficiency of N, Mag, or even sulfur. Nitrogen being the most likely and sulfur being the least. Also like I said from personal experience I have noticed that when my plants are needing a feeding the stems start to get a little bit of purple along with other signs of them needing a good feeding.

Im almost positive the whole Indica thing is NOT right. Besides the only part of a plant that should be purple (and this is on actual purple strains) are the buds NOT the stems, Also leaves on most strains can turn purple when the air is cold enough I believe it has to get down into the 60's for this to happen.
