Purple stem issue

Hello all, I have been having issues with purple stems, and I see this on multiple strains , I have a hypothesis pointing towards the cob lighting

So I was running a couple strains all were showing tints of purple at most points in their life. I traded clones with a fellow grower and everything was green and lush. Two weeks under my cob veg lighting tent the stems all purpled up, he said they never purple on him. And the cherry cut I gave him grew out of the purple when he put it in some fox farm soil

One of my flower tents are still running with older Area 51 leds , two rw75s. The purple seems to start slow during veg which is under the cobs and then up top the stem growth fades back to green.

My cherry tent around 4 weeks, the stems were dark red purple down low, then fades back to green up top, this tent is under some timber grow cob leds

Any opinions on the growth the leafs or anything in general is appreciated

I’ll start with the cherry that purples for me, and not under my friends hps, don’t confuse the bamboo

The strains I was just gifted were

The Rem by sin city
Sweet pink grapefruit by alpine
Mataro blue by kannabia
Medijuana by Asm
...And Something out of Vegas area supposed clone only , called creeper

If anyone has experience with them

Thanks everyone

I wouldn't blame the led's, not untill you make sure its not a def/lockout problem. Have you tried feeding what he feeds?

Why is it a problem? What difference does it make to the growth/yield/potency/flavour/aroma?

He feeds the two part emerald harvest, I'm using two part flora nova.

It's been about theee weeks of me tryi some calmag supplements then , I've tried different dosages of mutes, and been cycling ph from 5.8 to 6.2 to see if there is a sweet spot. Also he runs soil, I'm running hempy buckets drain to waste, but he has run dwc with them and still sees no purple.

Potency and yield etc have yet to be tested in my environment, I just took some cuttings from each plant he gave me, I would just like to enter flower knowing this issues isn't a crazy deficiency. I just thought possibly the cob lighting could attribute to the stem, the difference between me and him is, hps soil , nutes and /or dwc, most tbe leave sets looks healthy. Also it's very easy to take your nail to it and scrape the red off fairly easy.
Do you see nute lockout evidence on these leaves

I’m facing the same concern with my plants.
My issue I believe is rooted in a calcium and or mag issue. One of my strains was showing calmag issues on the leaves, then I went to take clones from another and notice some hollowing in the stems, almost certain it was/is a calmag issue just effecting different strains in different manners

Seems to be a mag issue. It will worsen with overwatering. Make sure they are fed well, and dont overwater. Purple stems are weaker and thinner than green stems.
