My little seedlings started out with purple stems, didn't seem to be bad in any way for them.

florescent light (they're high in UV light) will bring the latent color out in some strains, you have no problem

Agreed, mine started out like that, just recently, and are perfectly fine now. One question...a true 100 watt CFL, or a 23/26 watt equivalent? It's a common mistake for new guys to assume they are getting 100 watts, when in fact, they are not, with CFLs. Always go by true wattage, when using 'em. :)

Well i thought it used 23 watts but put out as much as a 100W light?
Maybe im wrong though i am new to this.

everything is fine. just watch the temp in the room. purple come from cold temps. keep seedling warmer it'll green up. then towards the end when it's almost done. expose it to that cold air and it'll turn out a beauty! Promise!
