Purple stem. Deficiency or strain?

So I'm having this issue with one of my outdoor plants. The stem is purplish. The strain is Tangie. It's always had some purple on the stem ever since she was small but now it seems to be more pronounced. I recently fed them for the first time in a while. I have her in a 7gl smart pot and she's been outdoors since may15. Wondering if it might be rootbound sine it also has slowed growth. Thanks for your help. Try a little bit of Epsom salts (Magnesium Sulfate) in your water and see if it goes away. Some sativas will show this trait regardless of feeding. You can tell how sativa it is by watching to see if the plant droops at lights off.

Purpling from genetics happens in the stalk. So does deficiencies but the fact theyre all on leaf stems its not too advanced

Like they said cal-mag and nitrogen. I've herd of a lot of people having issues with tangie herming and just being an overall difficult cultivar. Good luck!

So researching on cal mag I seen that most people who use it are growing in cocoa. My medium is a soil and cocoa mix. Question is do I still need to incorporate this into my feeding. I bought a bottle just in case and gave them a light dose today. Also if needed how often do I give them it.

Chronic under watering or root bound can cause it also.

Looks like it needs nitrogen. Either use some Epsom or cal/mag. I would use cal/mag if you got it.

Did you switch to flower nutes before stretch was over. They burn a lot of N during stretch.

I've never been a fan of bloom feeds and prefer a balanced NPK all the way til the end.

If your nutes don't have micro nutes look into getting something with more micro nutrients.

I'm outdoors so they're still in veg. Rootbound was one of my guesses because she was growing like crazy then all of a sudden growth has slowed. I have her in a 7gl smart pot and they've been out since mid may. I definitely been under feeding them up until last week when I decided not to listen to the guy at the grow shop. Did some research ended up getting some fish fertilizer, kelp, and some kelp, fish, and molasses mix. Also some grow big I think it's called has a bunch of guano in it. So watching you tube I seen someone mix all these things together and make a tea out of it. I decided to try it myself. I bubbled all of the fertilizers together for two days. Most of my plants are now super green and seem to have reacted well to it. Tangie still has a purple stem though.

Root bound would cause it. Since may sod definitely be long enough for it to happen.

You can peel that smart pot right off and up pot it easy.

I would anyways before it starts to flower.
