Purple stem after two months in the same pot

Hi there,

I'm getting purple stems when I grow a plant for two months in the same pot. I do this because I'm keeping mams and clones for a long time.

If I transplant them to new soil then the issue is solved for another two months or so and the plant starts growing new green branches again.

The thing is that I would like to know if there a way to avoid this purple stems without having to transplant every two months. I tried giving them bio-grow and bio-bloom from biobizz but it didn't seem to work and the plants gets a light burn in the tips of the leaves.

Not sure if I'm not using the correct dosage/schedule or maybe I should be using other nutrients.

Anybody who keeps mams can share some knowledge ?

What is your medium, pH, temp, RH, feed? Purple stem can happen for a few reasons but until you dial in the basics, you can't fine tune the system.

Most often when problems arise, we like to drum up a quick remedy when in reality we would only be exacerbating the problem. Sometimes the answer is not so clear cut and might require great attention to detail in order to iron out the kink. I'd go over the most obvious variables first and then when those are within acceptable tolerances, move on.

I know why it gets purple, it's because I use the same soil for a long time and the plant probably eats all the nutrients. The question is, how do I fix this with nutes instead of having to transplant every two months ?

I think I'm gonna try to feed the plants with 1ml x litre of bio-grow once a week, and see if it works.

If anybody has any other ideas, let me know :)

Yeah dude it just needs some cal mag give it some tender love and care it will be fine. If you have a ppm meter do 500 ppm three times a week with your regular nutes and your good. Just use that cal mag ;)

Sounds good, I do have some epson salts. How much should I mix, around half tea spoon per litre ? one or twice a week ?

Thanks guys, The tip of the plant is getting green, so that's good news. I'll keep trying with biogrow and epson salts to see if I can keep new growth comming green and healthy :)

I'm only using 1ml x Litre of biogrow and half tea spoon x litre of epson salts.

Regards :)
