Purple Paralysis Ebb n Grow

AlphaPhase

Well-Known Member
Strain: Purple Paralysis ( Cream of the Crop) Feminized

Nutrients:
Dyna-Gro Foliage Plus
Bloom
Pro-tekt
KLN

Equipment:

1000w hps air-cooled hood
440cfm exhaust fan
x6 ebb n grow buckets (2 gallon buckets)
5x5 Grow Tent
25 Gallon Reservoir

I have 6 cuttings in an aerocloner at the moment and as soon as they root I will be adding them to the ebb buckets. These will be flowered in the same tent along with Karma Genetics Sour Power Biker and 24k White Gold and DNA Genetics Tangilope. There will be a total of 12 plants in a 5x5 tent. The other plants will be grown in 3.5 gallon DWC buckets.

6/6 of the cuttings have started to root after 6 days in the cloner. I will be keeping them in the cloner until roots are a decent size and then they will go into my dwc veg tote for a week or two to establish a good root base. After a nice root base has formed they will go into the ebb n grow system for flower.

Update: will be using a different nute line. The nutrients will be as followed.

  • Hydroponics research veg+bloom one part powder

  • Botanicare silica blast

  • CX hydroponics wilt guard
  • GH Kool bloom

It shouldn't be much longer in the cloner. I switched the timer for the pump from 15 on 30 off to 24h on and they seem to be growing a little faster. I'm hoping by Wednesday or Thursday they will be ready to transplant

I transplanted the 6 purple paralysis into the dwc veg tote. They will stay there until a nice root base has formed. They are the first 2 rows of clones. Only one experienced transplant shock but will be OK. If it's slow to grow I have another backup clone in the cloner.

I completed the grow tent set up. Just waiting for some air stones to come in the mail which should be Wednesday and then the plants will be put into the tent under 1000w. The roots have grown a little and are through the net pots now.
I did a modification to the ebb n grow buckets. Instead of using a bucket full of hydroton, I made lids with 5" net pots to allow more space for roots and way less hydroton. I've never done this before and haven't read about anyone else doing this, but I am assuming I will have to flood every hour instead of every 6 hours.
If ANYONE has done this with net pots please let me know any info about flooding and any problems you may have had. It seems like this could be a good idea but there's not much info so I honestly don't know.

Looking good. Have you ran this strain before? Also not to bust your chops but are you doing a journal if so why is it here in the seed and strain review forum? 12 plants under a 1000 watter in a 5x5 tent is overkill don't ya think, unless you plan on keep your veg to a minimum?

Thanks man, I've never run the strain before but the genetics interested me while I was searching for a purple strain. I put it in the seed strain review section just to give a start to finish review of the strain and I'll be doing a smoke report, it should give people a good baseline to judge from if it's something their interested in 8-) also, should give a decent idea of how the plant grows, stretch ect. It should be interesting running 12 plants in the tent but I plan on limited veg time and I've topped most of them and may use a scrog net or cages to train them. It'll be a jungle that's for sure, but I think it will be manageable. I'm hoping for 2oz off each plant to give me 24 total. I miss doing sog grows so this is the closest I can do at the moment. I think i will flower around 15" which should end no more than 36" when fully grown. It shouldn't be too bad (I hope lol)

7 days of Veg. The purple paralysis are the plants in the smaller buckets in the back. They have been topped multiple times and lst'd. One of my fittings broke on one ebb bucket so one plant is in the veg room in a make shift dwc bucket at the moment. The new fitting will be in the mail Thursday and it can go backin 5he tent and ebb system. The plants respond well to lst and topping.

Thanks skyrocket. Yeah, it was supposed to be one strain this round but things changed last minute and I had to add a couple more strains to the mix. I'm lucky 3 out of 4 strains take the same nutrient levels or it'd be a lot harder to manage. I ended up putting the sour power biker and 24k white gold in to the ebb system so that should save me a ton of time. Now I only have 2 dwc buckets to deal with. :hump:

Here's the tent with the rest of the ebb buckets set up and the plants in thier proper spots instead of scattered all over the place :p

I started flowering Sunday. Things are growing too fast and couldn't make the 3 week mark. Canopy is filled in. These will go about 9 weeks. Temps are now 75 lights on and 64 lights off. Humidity is at 54%. Hoping to get some purple out of these.

I must say this purple paralysis is a keeper so far. She grows perfect. It's stacking nicely and preflowers have started. She's a fast grower for a sativa. The way the nodes and leaves grow allow for great light penetration. It doesn't grow too crowded but still stacks nodes nicely. So far the plant grows strong and sturdy. For the first 7 days of flower I was feeding 1.35ec and they were eating alot. After day 7 the ppm wasn't dropping so I lowered ec to 1.2. The plant directly under the hps has slight light burn (not heat burn) so I suspect she likes the light at least 18"+ for a 1000w. My temps are mid 60s at night so if this pheno is purple I will know in a month or so.

Can you say damnnnnnnnnnnn? Because that's all I can say about this 20 days flower frost. This lady is a KEEPER. I'm impressed to the max. I don't know if I'm just lucky since I only popped one bean, but I am keeping this forever.

Thanks man, I think you'll be happy with it. I got a single pick n mix seed from the 'tude and I am blown away, it's the only strain in the garden that is completely sticky and caked in crystals at only 21 days (today) and it really grows nice. I can't even comprehend what the resin will look like in another 7 weeks, it'll be a sugar factory for sure. It does stretch pretty good, at least 3x, I flowered at like 9" tall i think, but the nodes are perfectly spaced and I think there's going to be some 2-3 ft. colas. I topped it for about 10 tops so definitely top it and train it early, it worked well for me and all the tops grew to the same height which is nice for a canopy. Keep following this thread bro, I'll be updating weekly or biweekly.

Here's one more frost pic to entice others to take a chance on this strain. Remember, 21 days in.
