so you mentioned heat.. what is your reservoir temperature? anything above 70 is prime to develop root rot, which can cause what you're seeing. .it also looks like nutrient burn.

are you roots white and healthy? is there any slime on your roots?
what PPM/ec are you running? what about your ph?
ive had best results running water only for the last 7 days before harvest. makes the final product much smoother.
for your first run in DWC its not bad. dwc is a hard beast to master.. i fked up more than a few rounds dialing it up. and even when you're dialed in, shit can still happen and down your crop in an instant.. its not forgiving at all.

I'm pretty sure it's just heat burn and nute burn my roots are super healthy there is a tiny bit of brown on some of the roots but I read the nutes I'm using (gh micro) causes roots to stain brown sometimes and i keep my pH at 6.0 all the time I have no ppm meter I know that's not good when running hydro but I did this all on kind of a budget next grow I will definitely have a ppm meter. I couldn't see my reservoir temp getting too high since my grow is in my basement and it stays fairly cool down there especially the concrete floor the reservoir is sitting on

With dwc typically you can get away with running half to quarter strength. Meter is a must.
If the nutrients stain the roots, is there organic matter in the nutrients? If so you'd be best to run a microbial tea in your res (Heisenberg tea) to prevent pathogen issues, as opposed to running sterile

i will defiantly run quarter nutes next grow i did half of what my nutes im using said and yes i also use fox farm tiger bloom it has organic matter and i will for sure look into that heisenberg tea. my roots look pretty healthy they have no slime but are just slightly brown
