Alright, full disclosure, I’ve been bummed out and I haven’t been posting regularly on this thread, mainly because I live in a climate with a really contrasting season change and Powdery mildew is an issue, outdoors especially. I grow with a friend outdoor who has access to much more property than I do, but he had a powdery mildew issue on 2 of his plants this fall, and I was over there handling them, and ended up being away from my indoor garden quite a while past watering, so I rushed in like the inexperienced idiot that I am, and about 5 weeks in noticed the spots on the lower leaves and starting to creep up, I sprayed a weak mix of potassium bicarbonate and it cleared up…til midway through week 7, sprayed again, even lighter, and the shit came back so I harvested today, it’s very light, it’s not on any actual bud, and I’ll just toss the trim.A0A535C6-A983-4672-B315-E3101CB8E9BF.jpeg
So that is a day 64-65 finish depending on how you count, the smell great, they are so sticky, so I’ve got my parameters dialed in and now just waiting for them to dry

Thank you, I have been using micronized sulfur on the veg plants, then the potassium bicarbonate before flip, but I’ve come to the reasoning that you can never have to wide an IPM net

Alright so my Gush mints harvest wasn’t what I expected, resin production, trichomes were beautiful, taste was fantastic and smell was great…yield was not and potency was there but I think it could have been better. They just weren’t as dense as they were before, if you want to skip my own personal notes below, basically after turning it over in my mind every which way for 3 weeks, I believe it was lights off temps being too low. it’s like really good outdoor or greenhouse that didn’t have a heater set up. I yielded about 1/2 lb less than last time, had to do a tighter trim as well to make them presentable. I got a nice BVV set up with a dewaxing column to process the trim and the small larfy stuff, so stay tuned for that.

my reasoning behind my conclusion that it was nighttime temps that caused my incomplete bud structure is as follows:
I yielded so much less while feeding higher ec at more frequent intervals, so with no adverse reactions to the higher nutrients, ph monitoring of all input every time, and varying from 6.0-6.3 ph, so no lockout. It couldn’t be from deficiencies. Last time I used a NIWA growhub, this time it was getting ‘repaired’, and now it won’t pair with my router, no biggie, I feel like starting with a module like that is a handicap anyway, the best way to learn to master environment has to be from actually controlling the variables manually. So I was diligent, I’m blessed, marijuana and fatherhood are my only pursuits, so I maintained things constantly, the thing I did different was I decided to take advantage of northern NY weather and let the temps drop the temperature during lights off to 60 sometimes I’m sure it got around 56-59 at the end…to bring out those hints of purple more fully…:wall:
It didn’t do that. At all. It made the buds loose and airy accept the tops, and the tops get wispy at the edges and are half sized. But smoke is good so, shatter here we come.

Yeah, the low temps will definitely affect yield.

I also think I put the nutes to them too heavy this last 2 runs.
I also have gotten off the floraflex, 3 flower runs with 2 different strains and both smell identical and taste very similar. I’ve switched to Jacks RO formula with the ultraviolet for flower. I’ll post results on that.

Nice! Gush Mints is a great strain for sure. Loud terps, huge yield, icy donkers, etc. It does take a bit of time to flower though. I just picked up one of PCG's newest cut, Pinnacle (Gush Mints x Slurty3), which is supposed to be really similar to Gush M, but has at least a week shorter flowering time, but still a huge yield of loud icy donkers.

Ya definitely have to let it go past 70 days for sure to get the full potential out of gushmints

I've gone everywhere from 65 to 80 with it, and IMO temps play a big part in how quickly you can pull. 65 is too early, but I had to do it once and it turned out pretty good, but the temps were warm and it seemed to mature quicker. I did a run with real low temps, and it took longer than typical, but did turn out great. I think it's ideal window is 70-75 days after 12/12, depending on conditions. It does throw pistols forever though, so you can't really judge based on that. PCG has tested multiple harvest windows, and they say that 70-days is ideal, and that it doesn't get better past that, based on their test results.

Ya I'd say around 75 days is perfect

she’s definitely stretching like her mom, very pretty plant, im excited to see if there are any deviances from the PCG clone, I have a rooted clone of this seedling in case she ends up being special.

Gush Mints always surprises me how much it shoots up during flowering. I thought that I kept it short enough in veg this time, but I'm still maxing out my lighting height in my tent.
