Pure afghan week 4 flower help !!!!

After i'd fuck one up in flower it usually took a week or 2 for them to recover fully. I did the same shit as you on my first handful of grows before I figured out a surefire formula for my preferred strain. Each one is slightly different, but all will tolerate less nutes better than more. It's a painful learning experience having to wait so long, but it is one that isn't often forgotten!

For the record I grow White Widow only and use 3/4 strength maxibloom lucas @ around 900-1000 total ppm from veg till harvest. 3.5gal Perlite hempy in the summer and DWC in the winter.

So here's an updated pic from tonite. They're lookin so much better since I switched from botanicares cns17 1 part bloom to general hydros flora micro/bloom and my additives. They're technically 44 days in but I suspect they are a few weeks behind due to some cold spells and earlier issues with the grow.

The ph is at 5.8 and my res temps are at 69. The temp in my room is about 71 to 74 with the lights on and about 60 to 64 with the lights off depending on how cold it gets outside (external building) there is a heater in there but it only does so much. Hopefully since the res stays warm all the time the canopy temps won't kill me too bad. Anyway let me know what u think. The bud sites are actually starting to kinda fill out now with little false pods and im getting excited. Shouldn't be but maybe 3 or 4 weeks left. Thx for any input. Peace

were you using any micro nutrients with the cns17? i am running 1 lady right now with whats left of my gh flora series and 5 others are getting gh micro and cns17 1-2 at like 800ppm daily and they seem just as good as any i have used the gh line on.

curious as i am still cycling through lines to see what i like most.

oops you grow straight hydro and i coco.. I could see cns17 being a little thick running in a rez or dwc but just a guess since that isnt my preferred medium.

Ya I used cns17 with hydroplex and floralicious plus. All at half strength. Even at half strength my damn ppms would still be 1500 so I had to cut it back a tad. It was really thick in my res and would leave white residue in the bottom and a salt like build up on my air lines. I haven't had that problem this far with the GH stuff. I used cns last grow with some mid grade sativa bag seed and it did good but with this pure indica afghan I just didn't like it and my ph would change daily. I barely have to adjust it with the GH, although if I use the Lucas formula with GH and add my boosters my ppm is still around 1500 so I've had to mess with it a tad to get it to around 1000. It was 940 tonite when I checked.

Good luck with ur grow man. Hope it goes well. Also the guy I got these from uses scrog and gets a great yield. Probably double if not triple what ill get but my cab is tiny , he has a giant space. He uses botanicare also but he uses the pure blend pro and swears by it and calmag and mychorizea(butchered it). Anyway peace and good luck

From the beginning, it seemed like you had ph issues and too high of ppms during that stage of flower. With gen hydro, 1500 ppms should be at the peak of flowering....say week 5-6. Just make sure ph stays constant. Some ph down reacts differently to certain nutes. Try using gen hydro ph up and down. Your air temps are too cold for flower. Day should be around 80 and night around 65-70. It seems like your mixing and matching a lot of nutes. Keep it simple. Stick with one brand and use their supplements with the base nutes.

If you can, get RO water for hydro. Tap has too much crap in it. Grocery stores sometimes have RO units that you can bring in a jug and fill it for cheap. With dwc, get a bigger air pump to increase disolved oxygen content in the water. Makes all the difference. I would move your ballast away from your buckets. Far away. Even though your water may be cool, a future investment is a chiller. If you run hydro, a chiller is just as important as the light. Even a shift in temp over 75 degrees can bring about bacteria growth, even if your buckets are light tight which even one small light leak could spell trouble. Again with mixing nutes, it can wreak havoc on ph and could cause nute lockout. Remember, KISS......Keep it simple

Ya up untill a week and a half ago i was using the drops to check ph now I have a really nice ph/ temp meter so I'm able to dial it in . I use GH up and down although I still have a whole bottle of up , never had to use it. Ppm's were a little high for a moment now they stay at 1000 so I think I'm good. I have an aquarium heater in each res and they have adjustable temps. Right now both are at about 69 degrees which seems to be working good if I turned them off the water would be cold as balls. Like 40s and that wouldn't be good at all. They seem to like the bloom booster (ginormous) and the snowstorm ultra a lot. They definitely have doubled in frost. This is the first time I've ever grown this strain and it seems pretty damn resilient so all in all I'm pretty happy with it given the circumstances. And btw my tap water has a ppm of about 140 to 160 and unfortunately it'll have to do for now. Thx.

I've foliar fed with ginormous and snowstorm for the first week and a half in flower. Saw some nice results. Good products if you use them right.

Ya I like them so far. I use the crystal burst and floralicious plus also. Although, when I feed them and change the res on Sunday I'm just gonna use the base nutes at 8/16 micro/bloom like Lucas recommends and 3 tsp Epsom salts and see how they do for a few days. Now that the pistils are actually turning into buds I'd imagine 100ppm would be good.

I haven't foliar fed at all this winter bc my HPS is only about 8" away from my biggest plant and when the lights are off it gets pretty cold sometimes. I may try it right as the lights go off tomorrow. Thx man. Peace

So here are some pics from tonite. Man I've seen a big difference in the last week. Looks pretty good. Finally got my nutes and ph worked out and they are really fillin out.I can actually see buds now instead of just losts of pistils, and the smell is unreal .My buddy I got the clones from drove up and said they looked pretty good to him , he said I had about 6 weeks left so we shall see. Take a look and let me know what u think. With all the setbacks I've had this time around I'm pretty stoked. Even if I only get an ounce or two ill still be happy. Thx and stay smokin. Peace

Ya I'm chompin at the bit. The smell is so strong it's almost not a good thing. My cab is really small and its pretty damn stealth. It's hidden really well but within the last week the smell has gotten so strong it's noticeable from outside. I tried a carbon filter but my axial fan only pushes like 110 cfm. It works perfect for my small space but when I put the small filter on it just doesn't exhaust enough air so now I'm running into the problem that all the exhausted air smells really really strong. It smells amazing but I'm sure my neighbors wouldn't agree. Haha.

I went to Walmart tonite and bought one of those battery operated air fresheners that sprays a mist every so often but that fucker ain't putting a dent in the smell. I went out there a little while ago to take the trash out and I laughed bc it hit me in the face like a ton of bricks. Green bricks. My daughter came in earlier and said not to let the dog out bc it smelled like there was a skunk outside. NOT GOOD lol. So if any of you guys have any advice on how to semi-eliminate the smell without a carbon filter I would really appreciate it. Anyway merry Christmas and stay smokin. Peace.

Venting into or running a vertical stack that exits at the ridge of the roof, easy to run same type as bath vent. I love it I circulate right into my living space, My place smells like a European Bakery LOL, good luck

Here's some pics from last nite. The pistils are about half orange. The last pic is of the main cola (top) leaves growing strait up is that normal ? They are only doing it on my tall plant , the littler plant looks normal. Hopefully only a few more weeks. Gonna pic up a scope tomorrow from my over priced grow store. Apparently the radio shack stopped carrying them. Thx for lookin. Let me know what u think. Peace
