Such a sound model our public schools operate under. At least this judge sees the bigger picture.

A Staten Island judge late Thursday denied a motion to dismiss a historic lawsuit that aims to revise New York state's teacher tenure rules. Staten Island Supreme Court Justice Philip Minardo ruled in St. George that the plaintiffs in the lawsuit -- who include a Castleton Corners father and his two children -- "clearly have standing" to assert their claims as students who have been deprived of their right to a sound, basic education. "With this trial, parents intend to prove that the current framework of bad laws, many children -- especially low income and minority children from our poorest communities -- are denied their right to a sound, basic education." The plaintiffs in the lawsuit known as Davids vs. New York argue that teacher tenure and layoffs by seniority deprive students of the sound, basic education they are guaranteed under the state constitution.

In b4 the "but you went to public school, therefore you should think it's awesome" argument.
How about you actually sent your children to public school, therefore you should think it's awesome. Glad we have public schools.

If teaching children that bullying is wrong is a worthy goal, wouldn't it make sense to cease funding government schools via an automatic ransom on their parents home? I'm thinking something that is done that way mimics rapist tactics.*

Great choice - pay these people or we will bring men with guns and steal your home. You never address that method, why not?

* your minimum daily requirement of rapist tactic comments has now been met

if public schools are rape, then why do so many people willingly and freely choose to be raped?

THE FREE MARKET HAS SPOKEN.

What's the difference between this and being required to pay for health insurance. You rail against the ACA, but support BS like this? At least there is a system set up in healthcare where they aren't gonna let you die if you don't have health insurance or your provider has dropped you for non payment. The insurance company might not pay for your visit, but the hospital sure as shit isn't gonna sit there and watch you die in their waiting room. .
I disagree with the ACA because I support Universal Healthcare.

Your point fails.

Anyone hear the major talking head on Faux News last week rattle off, almost word for word an opinion, that was posted in Politics on RIU. 5 or 6 days b4?
I very very rarely watch television. I do remember that Fox News had some good cleavage shots, if that is helpful.

THE FREE MARKET HAS SPOKEN.

If they "choose to be raped", it's consensual, therefore not rape.

It's when some people make choices for other people that HAVEN'T consented that rape becomes a possibility. Which is exactly what happens in the present circumstance.

I'm winning by a large margin, very large. Your arguments are impotent and limp.

Public Schools are teaching rape...

I have officially heard it all.

Inb4 pedophilia is described as consensual.

You are flailing in the branches. Strike the root causes.

The coercive institution itself needs examining, not "let's think of better ways to be coercive". Your arguments are attempts to move the furniture around in a house with a weak foundation as if that will cure the caving in.

If government schools are so good, why must they rely on coercive funding to exist? I bet you won't give a credible answer to that.

Did you hear the one about the "Anarchist" that gets a government check ?

In both instances, funding government schools and rape, a threat of force to an otherwise peaceful person is involved. Can you refute that point or are you just going to sit there dumbfounded ?

I haven't owned a television for quite some time. It's not a priority for me.
