Psilocybe hollandia truffles - first time

Hey guys, so I've never tripped before but took the plunge today and purchased some truffles online.

I've been feeling out my networks for months to find some shrooms, but was unable to obtain any so this is my compromise.

I bought 15g of psilocybe hollandia truffles - supposedly almost twice the potency of other strains of psilocybe truffles that I will be splitting with my girlfriend for both or our first trips. She's 190lbs and I'm 130lbs, we're not hoping for a super intense trip but something with some visuals.

I've done a fair bit of research and plan to eat them straight, washed down with some OJ. We're also probably gunna be vaping weed as we trip.

If anyone has any thoughts or insights to share with a first-time tripper, please do! I'll update this thread when they (hopefully) arrive and tell you how mine and my gf's experience was.

I hear the potency in truffles varies a ton, and the potency can degrade easier than other types of shrooms... I've read some people not getting good effects from 20+ grams, and others getting good effects from 10 or under. I've never done them personally though, only cubes. Some other people here have experimented with them, maybe they can chime in.

and im pretty sure you got enough truffles for just one person.the weight dosage for truffles is roughly 3 times as much for dried mushies...

The active ingredient in truffles is by nature bound in a very tough cellular membrane of chitin. I have known people to eat a number of grams dried, but swallowed them whole and felt nothing. We then ground them to a powder and they worked. Because of the different water content of mushrooms and sclerotia and because most of the sclerotoa forming varieties are inherently stronger than cubes you have to do some figuring.

as was mentioned by my friend skuxx, the potency tends to degrade with time... I have no idea why. My advice is to use one of the lemon tecs and grind it up fine if dry, chew it up well if not. Many like the taste. I do, slightly nutty, a little sour on the finish, maybe bitter but not much. Can't really help you on dose, and no, body weight makes very little difference as the chical has an affinity for organs that weigh about the same in all adults, or so I am told.

All the truffles I have consumed have been wet. I nibble a square of Hershey chocolate as I eat them to help with the sour, metallic taste. Always chew them to a fine puree before swallowing. Hope the info helps, have a great trip!

We'll be receiving them fresh in the mail, and probably be consuming them shortly thereafter, and keeping them in the fridge if not. Thanks for your input guys!

those guys should have better customer service..to think there could be a free testimonial/advertiser here for them but they failed to make good, even after saying they would...

^ yeah, Im not trying to vendor bash them. I did have a few good trips courtesy of them, but my last order didn't arrive. One person said they would re-ship since it was a fairly large order, the next person I talked to referred me to the "no replacement orders" clause. You will be impressed at how discreet the shipping is though. anyways, good luck with the order and have a great trip!

If customs snagged em, I never got notified. It's not like they came in a tie dye box that said "hallucinogenic mushrooms" lol

Grow it yourself, nothing could be easier, no customs, it's cheap, you will have an unending supply, no fruiting chambers or fanning or lights. They tend to grow, if you have the temperature below 80, for most of a year. You can put down a few dozen jars, make your first harvest in a few months and then take out another jar or two every month. It isn't like x or lsd, something that you just won't be able to do, youall are pot growers for god sake, you are self sufficient, industrious and ingenious, patient and understanding of growing things. You easily wait what? two? three months for your bud? Put them down next month and you don't have to even look at them until it is time you eat them.

I tell all my cluster headache people the same thing, they can moderate if not eliminate their headaches, all they have to do is set up two cases of jars. Of course I recommend using filter disks and you are going to have to have a pressure cooker - but hey, I had the traditional corned beef and cabbage on monday. I didn't put the corned beef in the water and cook it all day, I put it in my pressure cooker, a little more than half an hour later I put the potatoes and cabbage in there and cranked it up again for 15 minutes.

Corned beef and cabbage in 45 minutes? try that in a microwave. And all you folks who grow tomatoes, you can can those things you know, using a pressure cooker. Chilli? quicker than you could imagine, beans? super fast. Before microwaves pressure cookers were the fast cooking convenience. Try it.

Or you can send away to somewhere far away, let someone else grow for you, expose yourself to the illegalities of the substance plus risk international border crossings, mail fraud, confiscation, loss or simple rip offs.

Just bit the bullet and start, in a couple of months you will be thanking me.
And while you are at it, plant a few feet of cactus. You will look back on the inconvenience now in five years as one of the most dividend porducing activities you ever forced yourself to do. Take it from me, five years goes quick, and if you don't do it now, you will look back and wish you had. When I first purchased my house I considered planting fruit trees, avocados, mangos, figs, meyer lemon, grapefruit - It would have cost me a few hundred dollars. I didn't do it. eighteen years later I regret it every day.

If I had the space, I would. In the future I would love to grow all kinds of stuff - mushies, cannabis, maybe some peyote and some of my own produce. At this time, it's just not feasible as I'm currently living in a dorm on campus, and next year will be living in a shared house with 3 older students who I don't know well. I've been considering a PC grow box for weed for next year but I'm on the fence about taking that risk. Also, this will be my first time with hallucinogenic drugs really, except for some brief experimentation with DXM and diphenhydramine so I'm not even entirely sure how I will react. It's certainly something I plan to do when I buy my own place though :)

You could grow cacti in your dorm (unless it's just no plants allowed policy there). No worries legally while they are live and growing... especially in canada. Most people only know what peyote looks like anyways, so any of the other special cacti just look like regular cacti to them.

Youi don't even have a closet? That is all it takes. You could avail yourself of some of those sterile jars of grain they sell, a few syringes and you are done. Just squirt the stuff into the jars and put the jars in your closet for a few months.

This is a possibility, I will look into this further!

Currently I'm sharing a closet with a roommate. The only substance I've really looked into growing/producing throughly as of yet is cannabis, as I frequently smoke and want a cheap, reliable source.
