Prune Damaged Leaves?

If a leaf set say has more than 1/2 damage from say over nute would it be best to let it die a slow death or trim it back.

I cut back only about three or four sets. Have that many more that could probably use it if it's OK.

I'm about 4.5 weeks into flower and these are some of the oldest leaf sets on the plant on the very bottom. And when I trimmed I went back the main stem and lopped it off there. I guess these are called fan leaves.

The way I figured the plant is just to keep putting energy into fixing these when they ain't gonna live anyway.

Set me straight if I've done any wrong. Thanks in advance.

It's the other way around. The plant is eating those leaves, in an attempt to support the rest of the plant. Even though they don't look real pretty, lol I don't like to trim mine. I still do though, especially if they are at the bottom of the plant. But, I always make sure to only remove a few at a time, leaving some behind. Honestly though, I don't think you'll really hurt anything if you remove them, alot of guys do, I just choose not too. I normally only remove them when they come off with a light tug.

^^^^Yeah^^^^^ The plant will naturally remove damaged leaves. I let it drain what it can outta the leaf, and like jaw said, I give them a slight tug, and if they come off, it was time. Otherwise, I just let the plant get as much use out of the leaves as it can. Im 2 weeks into flowering and some of my plants have fan leaves that were damaged from nute burn still on them, AND green still, after a month. So I figure the plant will get rid of it when its ready. Ive read that cutting off too much at once could really stress the plant out, and being that your into flowering now, I personally wouldnt add any stress to my plants at all.

i like to give the leaf a quick tug. if it comes off like nothing it was going to fall off anyways, if it shakes the plant and stays on leave it.
