My plants are about to die, I have accepted that, *ALL GROWTH UNEXPOSED TO THE HPS HAS SURVIVED AND IS COMPLETLY HEALTHY*

Your thoughts please..

What are your temps? How close is the light? How often do you water?Any nutes? How often do you feed? It could be any number of things. Put your hand over the top of your plant, where the light hits it.Hold it there for 30 seconds. If it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for your plant.Raise the light a bit.

400w HPS, 78F, 65F dark, the bulb is 50cm from the top of the plant, didn't nute for 3 weeks- [nuted Bio Bizz dirt], watered when it was nearly dry 2 inches down, did the hand thing at the start and was fine still is.

The interesting thing is all the growth unexposed to the HPS is strong and healthy?, a very uncommon problem?

Thanks Stoney

K, I don't know anything about bio bizz dirt personally, but I know that a lot of folks don't like to use miracle grow soil with nutes in it because it can seriously burn your plants. I think bio bizz is organic, so we'll assume that's not the problem for now. 50 cm is about 20 inches....that's acceptable, and you said you did the hand thing,so that's good.Pics would help.It may just look like the hps has something to do with it.For right now, I'd suggest moving the light up just another few inches,so it's about 24 inches away.See if that seems to alleviate the problem.
What ph water are you watering with?

I can keep my 400w HPS about 6 inches from the canopy.I'm using a hortilux eye,but no matter what bulb he is using I can't imagine that it would need to be 18 inches farther away than mine.
Have you been misting or foliar feeding at all?

6 inches?, I am in a 2x4 closet, no misting or foliar feeding, they yellowed from the bottom to the top and are now fucked but all growth UNEXPOSED to the HPS is fine!

6 inches?
Yes sir,I keep it about six inches from the canopy with a fan blowing directly on the bulb.
If it was a light burn then it would've started at the top.Usually if it starts from the bottom and works it's way up it's a deficiency of one of the mobile nutrients.

I think your looking in the wrong direction. Sounds like a severe lack of nitrogen. See Uncle Ben's thread. But it's hard to tell without pictures.
