What watt leds are in your UFO? I'm still running 1 watt leds but thinking about an upgrade in the near future. How much penetration do you get out of the UFO as well? Are you just gonna keep running the perma frost or try out some new strains?

I'm gonna try some new strains. Taking a break after this for a bit until I decide on some strains to try. Lots of clones/seeds available locally gotta decide on something... The LED is 180x1wLEDs... some are nonvisible. Prosource has an interesting design and fantastic results. I haven't researched in years but it was rated very highly at the time. Supposedly it has some UV to encourage trichome growth as the plant will produce more as a sunblock. Not sure if it's ok to link to a manufacturer site here if it's not mods feel free to remove. They do have an affiliate program but I am not a part of it nor am I using a referrer link... http://store.prosourceworldwide.com/Illuminator-180W-UFO-LED-Grow-Lights-p/illuminator jumbo ufo 180w.htm

There were a lot of storms recently and he said the one section likely went out due to a failed power supply from the surges. I would say that is good design that only part of it failed and is easily fixed with a hot swappable part.

Also I just saw their note about the special HPS LED blend... may be something to look into Slinger.

As far as penetration goes... I'll have to take a photo but pink light always is shining out of the vents through the canopy... Near the bottom a small bud has been growing right above the soil line wayyy beneath the canopy. You can see it's all pink because the LED is penetrating but the CFLs are not. It's kind cool. looks discoesque. I'll snap a photo of it tomorrow when the lights are on.

This was from my first grow when all i had was the LED... never harvested as there was a situation... But that is an 11'x4' closet white painted walls... The LED is the only light on.... If I spend too much time in my tent I get a tan....

Received the power supply today opened up the light and it is far from plug n play. Called Prosource, turns out the newer models ARE plug n play but mine is 2 years old. For proper service I need to send the light in. I have to pay for shipping as that isn't included, that is the only thing I'm a little upset about... I was planning to take a break after harvest anyways. So once I harvest I'll be sending it in to be repaired. I'm almost kind of hoping they may just replace it then refurb the current light... We'll see...

I do have to compliment them on their quick service and willingness to help. Even though my issue wasn't resolved with the first call in. For the moment my light will have to do at 3/4 strength. Just a few more days anyways...

Damn that light is bright! Don't think I can justify spending 500$ on 180w though. I'm taking a month off after this grow due to the fact that I'm relocating. Give us some harvest pics soon! Sorry to hear that your issue wasn't resolved as easily as you though but the company sounds legit and helpful!

^ A51 lights are $600 for 160W... Watts aren't everything.
True watt's are not everything but I think I'd rather have a 3w x 90 Apollo panel for 250 free shipping honestly. To each his own though, SativaGrows is pulling some major weight this run with his led / CFL combo!

Actually they are still growing buds at a pretty rapid rate and fattening up. It's like they are having another growth spurt. Many of the fans are starting to yellow though so it's coming soon. The sample I cut smoked pretty potent and I didn't even do a proper cure quite yet. I've been thinking of trying the dry ice cure but I feel like the trichs would get brittle and fall off.

That's cool that they are fattening up even more, I'm surprises some of those fallen over branches havnt broken already. I've been researching so many different curing methods lately and have been tempted to try them all but alas I just end up doing the same cure as always hang them up, dry them out, jar them up, burp for 2 weeks, start smoking the little nugs jar and let the big nugs jar cure for however long it takes me to smoke the little jars. If you do test some other ways to cure, be sure to log it here!

Just a quick update of some of the smaller buds that are showing some color, yes I know there are hairs stuck to some of the buds, they've been removed. Almost harvest time. I did find some more mold after a power outage and my dehumidifier couldn't run. I removed all I could find it actually wasn't too bad, I managed to save quite a bit which is now dryingI made sure to completely get rid of any of them had had any trace of mold. The only thing that sucks is of course the ones that were full of mold were some of my densest buds. I included a pic of the pile of moldy bud.

I'm actually quite proud of my photography on these especially since I use my Samsung Note II for all my photography now… If you click the thumbs then click the photo again to zoom you can see the trichs pretty clearly on a lot of these.

I put them into a dark period today. They are looking about done, I believe I'll give them a full 48 hours of darkness then chop them and hang to dry for a day or so right in the tent itself. I'll be jarring them up to cure shortly after. I'll take some photos when I chop them.

I've found a bit of mold here and there, I've been throwing that bud away for fear of the mold spreading. I'm learning sometimes it can still be used so am looking into those methods. My question is... I have harvested the bud and hung it to dry in the tent. I still have my exhaust fan running 24/7 on low. The environment in the tent is 70-73F and a constant 49-50% humidity, I could go lower if needed but have read this is the target. I've found a but more mold on some of the buds and I'm wondering if it is essential to remove that now to prevent it from spreading or if I were to leave it and remove those sections of bud during the final manicure before jarring? I guess I'm asking will this shit spread while it's hanging to dry in the environment I described or will it just remain where it is and not get any worse?

I not exactly sure but I would chop it all off to make sure it did not, in this scenario I would go with better safe than sorry. Also make sure you got good air flow, don't blow the fan directly on the buds so you don't have uneven drying.

Thanks, I have my active air fan sitting on the top exhaust of the DR120 and plugged into a fan controller and turned as low as it goes. The tent is sealed other than the screened vents. I'll take some photos but it seems to be drying nicely. The mold hasn't spread since I purchased that dehumidifier it's just now that I've harvested I'm finding where it's already grown mainly in the buds that were piled up due to my shitty screen. Lesson learned. I've been able to successfully chop off the bit of mold and haven't had to throw much away. I was just hoping I could let then dry out instead of having to inspect for mold as I trim the fans. I wanted to basically let them dry a few days and trim the fans off in that time and I was planning on finding and destroying the moldy bits before jarring them. I'm thinking I'll just do the inspection while trimming the fans then.

Plastic or rope screens for scrog are not always the best.. if I were to stiff I would use chicken wire or a piece of chain link. Might be worth looking into for your next go around. I would look into some info to see if you can still make bho with the molded stuff, seems I read that somewhere but not positive
