Prop 215 RDWC Round One

Hey everyone, I've been a member of the forum for a lonnngggggg time, but created a new username today for my new grows since my old username actually had my real name in it (I know I know, no need for the "that's dumb" remarks lol). I also want to give props to the webpage and all the members for all the great advice and tips and mostly the experienced knowledge in the green world. Without this site I would probably still be harvesting leaf and wasting alot of time and money 8-)

If you want to, feel free to follow my grow, ask questions & make suggestions!

Anyways, I've been growing for a good 10+ years. I would like to think that I have some good knowledge of the ins and outs of the hydro world. I've ran flood tables, bubble buckets, aeroponics... But this journal will be about my first ebb & grow (rdwc?) grow ever. I've helped other people with there ebb and grow grows before, but never ran the system fully by myself. So all in all, I am extremely excited to give it a go. I am now fully 215 compliant and loving the nor cal way of life!

So here's the gear I will be using:

Equipment:

-430cfm Intake fan

-6x24 Charcoal filter

-6" air cooled hood

-1000w hortilux eye HPS

-Active Aqua Flow Grow RDWC

-x6 2gallon pots filled with hydroton

-7gallon controller

-32 gallon reservoir

-General Hydroponics Flora Series

-Using Lucas Formula with KoolBloom, Rapid Root and Floralicious Plus

-pH up & pH down solutions (If needed)

-Air pump and air curtain in 32gallon reservoir for aeration

-Hanna Instruments GroCheck Combo pH/PPM meter

-5x5 diamond mylar grow tent

-x2 6" Oscillating clip fans

-x2 32watt florescent t8 shop light for cuttings

-x20 site bubble cloner for cuttings

-Digital thermometer hygrometer (indoor/outdoor)

-Manual Light Timer

The Clones I will be using:

-x5 LARRY OG clones and x1 Agent Orange clone

So here's what's been done so far.

Grow Log

May 6, 2014 – 4:00pm

x5 Larry OG Cuts & x3 Agent Orange Cuts taken from mothers & put into Bubble Cloner.

Cuts were taken at a 45 degree. About ¾ inch of stem was scraped gently to promote root growth. Larger leaves were cut in ½ as needed.

Only Tap Water Used, No Rooting Hormones added.

May 12, 2014—8:00pm –

Reservoir was cleaned and scrubbed. Fresh water added back to reservoir. 0.4 of 2tsp of GH Rapid Root Added (about ½ tsp) to bubble cloner. Small roots are starting to show on all cuttings. All clones are still green and show no signs of yellowing or any other deficiencies.

May 14, 2014—5:00pm—

Checked cuttings for root growth. Roots are now about ¾”

long. All clones are looking nice and healthy. The GH rapid

Root liquid seems to be doing it’s job.

May 15, 2014--5:00pm

Added 1/2 tsp of Rapid Root. All clones roots are growing quickly IMO and they seem to like the Rapid Root solution. I FIMed all clones. I am hoping that the FIMing doesn't cause too much stress, but Larry OG is a lankly mofo and I want to do all training techniques as early as I can. Techniques will include FIM, topping, super cropping and LST as needed. I will be doing a SCROG grow to maximize yield of this obscenely dank Cali connection Larry OG. I will be using all 6 dwc buckets for the Larry OG and I will also have a Larry OG in organic soil and a Agent Orange in organic soil in the same grow tent.

May 16, 2014--2:00pm

After calibrating my ph/ppm meter last night, I left the meter in some straight tap water to see what the pH is directly out of the faucet, and if the pH fluctuates after 12 hours. It did. pH was 6.6 out of faucet and 12 hours later the pH was 7.6. Double checked that the meter was calibrated with the 7.0 solution and it was spot on. So I will watch for pH spikes in the 32 gallon reservoir within the first 12 hours of adding anything. I won't need to worry about that for now as the clones will be vegged for another week in the bubble cloner until roots are big enough for the transplant into the ebb and grow system.

Added ¼ tsp Flora Micro and ¼ tsp Flora Bloom to bubble Cloner. Roots are looking great. Also some top growth.

Starting the nutrients very low. I am using a weak dose for now and will see how the plants respond and gradually increase nutrients using the Lucas Formula. Will add another ¼ tsp of bloom tomorrow if all looks well, making it 1/2 tsp of micro and 1 tsp bloom.

Here's some root porn. The roots have tripled in size over night and have starting shooting out some "fishbone" roots.

Here's the pics of the clone roots, they didnt upload on my last post for some reason :p

Added another 1/2 tsp of bloom. Clones are looking OK, they look a little stressed but after FIMing all of them when they only had root bumps and then adding nutes, I was expecting it. They're still green though and most have upward growth. The roots are doing great.

Added 1/2 tsp calmag today. PH is 6.0 and 460ppm (.7 conversion meter) . Everything is looking nice. Lots of new growth which was unexpected. Probably will put clones in the ebb buckets within a day or two.

Words of advice, don't super crop after you've had a couple drinks. 3/4 went well. The fourth, well, let's say that it now has been turned into a Larry og cutting :p

Otherwise things are looking great. I know a lot of people say og strains take longer to root and don't yield well, well mark my words, I have a feeling I will achieve at least a .8+ gram per watt with these. I'm gonna buckle up now because the next few months will be a wild ride. (I feel like I'm talking to myself right now since no one is following my grow, but maybe after they go into the ebb buckets and get bigger more people will tag along Lol)

Rdwc system is setup. Clones are ready to go in the buckets tomorrow. Res water will be sitting out for 24 hours. Gave the ebb n gro system a test run, had a mini spillage so made some adjustments and its running smooth.
