just realize this, tobacco with all its documented physical addiction is fully legal and with the amount of tax revenue they gain...
Do you really think they will allow a competitor to their monopolized cash crop? nope
not with out setting up strings so they can get on the cash cow when tobacco goes down hill.
humm do I want a pack of chokes or a pack of MJ...you can almost hear the stocks doping

this country was made by tobacco farmers, they went against Spains threats of death and grew tobacco and exported it until we became the largest producer of tobacco in the world.
It will take a lot to get the MJ ball rolling the first obstacle would be tobacco, we need to remove it.
after that they will be looking for a product that is 100% natural has no physical addiction or overdose risk and will embrace MJ for the cash cow it is.
Then next would be to declassify MJ as a drug, it is NOT a drug it is 100% natural.
We should not need a prescription to use a substance that has no overdose limits and no physical addiction.
obtaining a prescription is just another hook they have in MJ to slow down its take over of tobacco.
age restristions and public use will always be enforced, as it should
I would even go so far as to say renters cant grow, you must own your own house to grow and keep your smoke on your property not in your car or in your pocket when you go down the street.
give a 2year old a cup of sugar and you will call sugar a drug too
sugar is like hash from the sugar cane plant, 100% natural
ask your doctor if he would rather you smoke MJ or eat a cup of sugar, and see what they say.
google high blood sugar health risks

and our bigest partner is unknowingly the drug testing labs them selves:)
30days for thc to leave the body...sounds like the body is not in a big hurry to remove it

I think if this bill doesn't pass,

Then yes, the next legislation will be alot better. Because they will realize
we're not going for the bullshit limits they're trying to put on it.

We can all vote no, and get our med cards in the meantime, then
when a better bill that isn't so restrictive is written, we will vote that one in.

If you think about it, why are they saying it will be "legalized"
when you can still go to jail for it?

Think people, think.

Its not truly legal if you can still be fined or imprisoned.

Do you get fined for growing too many flowers in your front yard?

Are they limiting your vegetable garden size?
No, you don't get fined and they aren't limiting your "regular" gardens because
they're truly legal.

This bill is straight up bullshit. All about control and money.

Ok...that's it..... i can't stand that. You need to wake up.

Ether say something nice or don't say it at all. you need to open your mind. and deal with your own shit.

California is just like any other state. we have corrupt officials just like any other state. We have people like every other state.
We have trees like every state, we have water like every other state, we have everything that other states have and more.

So think before you speak.
When you assume, you only make an ass out of your self.

I'm still saying that the people for it are smokers and those opposed are growers. Think about it. A small operation like FDDs probably brings in 50-100K per year. Nice piece of change for staying home and watering plants, EH? There are more than one small time grower that will be fucked over by this bill. FDDs grow area is at least 20X30, Think about cutting that back to 5X5. Pretty drastic cut in production. How do I know these facts about FDDs grow op? Well I can go to the grow op area of RIU and look it up, that's just his outdoor grow. Who knows how much he's got going indoors. Yeah at 250.00-300.00 an OZ wholesale, that's a lot of bucks. One of those giant outdoor monkies should put out 15-25 OZs Roughly 4K per plant. 20 plants, uhhh, 80K, nice work I'd say. Please tell me where I'm wrong, FDD.

California is not like every other state... You are billions upon billions of dollars in debt. If it was not for the federal bailouts your state would be insolvent. Add on to that a state that is incapable of delivering basic resources like power and water to its inhabitants, throw in corrupt city council members making far more than the president of the united states. Sprinkle in an arizona boycott, sanctuary cities and the highest state income tax in the nation. Top it off with the fact that making money on weed is preferrable to making money on oil and you have a nice smorgasboard about what is wrong with your state...

i agree, this will not save the state one bit. this will just add to the corruption.
i think this bills only aim is to get the control of marijuana into as few hands as possible to get the profit in as few hands as possible. this however rings true with just about any product.

i don't sling ounces like a two-bit street hustler. prices are 2000 a pound. how many do you need and want does this have to do with anything? i'm medical, my grow area is 10 x 30, and i only have 14 plants. i have 5 other people i am growing for. there is no exchange of monies with them. if i made 80K a year the last place you would find me is on riu. i'd be ocean side in some other sunny country.

nice of you to throw me out there as your example. too bad you had to exaggerate everything. ;)

how would the passing of this bill change any of this for me?

that's true.
Technically the Medical Marijuana Industry can't make money, they can only make enough to pay for their subsequent bills. For buying the Ganja, and for any other business expenses.
And i think it's more legit when there is a Caretaker for other patients, so that there is less of a money trade, and more of a health service.

Lets take a fictional character, call him FAD. He has a successful grow op, maybe 600 sq. ft. or larger. He makes bank off his crops, maybe 50K plus, maybe even 100K+. Now let's look at what the bill proposes, 25 Sq. Ft.................. Would anyone expect this fictional character to vote yes on the bill? Lets do the math.600 Sq. Ft.-- 25 sq. ft. per plant..........24 plants. Large outdoor plants should produce no less than 25 OZ, ea.. Do the math here,, 600 OZs............250 per OZ wholesale= 150K, let's say he only gets 150 an OZ wholesale, that's still 90,000 buckaroos. Makes sense to me that this fictional character would like to leave the MJ status alone. Let's say that the 25 plants only produce 15 OZs ea., 375 OZs @ 150.00 ea, that's 56,250.00, Tax free. One can see the consternance of the fictional character if he feels he may only grow one plant, geeze, even at the lower end numbers, one can see that one would have to be highly educated and have connections to make that kind of dough, especially after taxes. I say vote whatever you want. The yes vote helps the smokers and the No vote helps the growers, pretty simple computations when one looks through the fodder.

dude it's much more then that. Its not making it better for everyone it's just costing the medical smoker more. I'm not even going to bring growing into it, just the fact that you will have to pay more per gram then you do now at a dispensary. Because one plant may not be enough medicine for some patients, those patients would need to buy from the state.

It's simple supply and demand. The MMJ Industry is getting rid of the supply, so they can drive up demand.
That is a "pretty simple computation when one looks through the fodder." as you say.

I'd probably vote yes for the simple reason that one OZ in possession is no longer criminalized. Going from your house to someone elses home with a bag of weed will no longer get you cuffed and stuffed for a routine traffic stop, tell me how many times that happens daily/nightly. Walking down the street with that bag of weed will no longer get you a ride to the local jail. I don't know how much weed you smoke, but isn't an OZ a week sufficient. There is about 40-60 Joints in an OZ, take 50 average and divide by 7, thats 7 joints a day, When I was smoking the bunk of the 50s-60s-70s-and 80s. I think I remember smoking less than that a day. With the potentcy of the new age MJ, I'd bet 7 joints a day would suffice for the high intensity weed smoker. If not, then man you've got a problem and Need help. Call Marijuana anonymous, ask for Betty Jean.

-.- dude, I say you have the problem of not having that much weed. but that's my opinion. and I'm glad I'm not you.
I just get to sit hear with my pounds of weed and laugh with my friends at how stupid that made you look. So you can do math on how to divide an ounce, do you want your cookie now?
If your telling people, that you don't know, that they have a problem in THEIR life, you've got one hell of an ego.

When you assume, you only make and ass out of yourself.

Of course i gotta take back my statement, and we're still sheeped right into the jock strap of the "officials", God damn, how many stupid people can we have in one country, our first mistake was sitting down, instead of standing up. from there we're herded to take our seat..i'm glad you dont think so. Shit our spent/tax dollars make this whole mother fuckin country up, and everything in the middle you have corruption, i guess you dont know how many rich ass mother fuckers there are in America, and i'm glad they can rock the boat or calm the "tide" when ever they want, but people dont see it as that. Niaveness keeps the cookie in the cookie gar. I for real don't even see why we're having to deal with this bullshit, ..o sorry ill keep my voice down, dont want to wake the boss. Excuse my anger/enthusiasm/hostily, i have a problem
