Update: 9/22 (28 days since flip to 12/12)

I am noticing some lime green coloring, some rust and oncoming purplish coloring atop the canopy, specifically. I'm thinking it could be a phosphorous or potassium deficiency or maybe the ph is off in the root zone. The buds are definitely growing pretty fast and within the last couple of days I've started to observe trichome development.

Yesterday I watered in about 200 ppm of calmag (without nitrogen) and 400 ppm of neptunes harvest fish and seaweed (2-3-1). My watering in ppm was about 600 and my runoff ppm is around 2000. My watering in ph this time was about 5.7 and my runoff ph was around 6.7. Next time I will water at 5.7 ph again and maybe the runoff ph will be lower than 6.7.

One thing I noticed is the plants look a way healthier green color when the lights are off and I take pictures with the flash on but this is around the time I always run into trouble. Any advice appreciated as always.

Now on to the pics:

Update 9/28 (34 days since flip to 12/12)

Hello, it's me again.

Normally I post once a week or so until the later weeks when there are some new cool developments and such. I'll say I finally think I know what dang
deficiency was- Potassium. My fan leaves started showing red blotches-especially on the plant on the right

9/27- I watered the plants with 200ppm of calmag and 150 ppm of 0-10-10..., watered in at 5.8- runoff ph showed 6.7, runoff ppm 1300....

the beat goes on

Since my last post I've started a grow with 5 gallon pails and GroBuckets.

Auto's from Herbies Seeds @ day 63.

Nothing but ProMix HP and my well water. The last two weeks I have added 1g/gallon of Bud Explosion to the 5g of MC/gallon..

Healthiest and most vigorous grow to date !

I don't think I've removed more than half a dozen yellow leaves except for lollipopping !

And the addition of Bud Explosion stopped the yellowing...

KISS, eh ?

Front right is a Wedding Cheesecake in a hempy bucket, fed GH Maxibloom. She exceeded 4' so I super cropped her ;)

Heck of a garden, well done chuckeye! Skyscrapers for autoflowers, it's unreal!

Question: I have runoff still at 6.7 after watering at 5.7 for the last 2 waterings (once every 3 days) in Promix HP with EWC and Top dressing with Gaia Green. What I'm guessing I added too much dolomite lime to my mix. I'm wondering if it makes sense to water in at 5.0 to make the runoff water lower into the 6.2 area. To me it makes logical sense but maybe the roots don't like that. Runoff ppm is 1400 Top dressed with 1 tbs per gallon of Gaia Green a couple weeks ago)

Any suggestions welcomed

By the way, next grow I'm going back to maxi gro/bloom

Thank you !

Sorry, can't help you.

I don't "amend" my ProMix, I don't ph down and/or measure run off, don't use Cal/Mag/dolomite lime and I never go over 1000 with my feed.

Cheers

Lucky you!

I water with tap that comes out the spout at less than 100 ppms. I treat it as RO water in that sense.... What kind of water do you use, chuckeye?

My water comes straight out of the ground ;)

80' well, ppm of 500, ph of 7.5 !

Used to haul city water, that got old in hurry !

Decided to go back to well water, I never had to add Cal/Mag and actually got better results when I quit phing down....

That's some impressive growth, and it's great to hear that the addition of Bud Explosion worked wonders for your plants! btw herbies seeds can really bring some quality genetics to the party

Update: Day 49 since flip to 12/12

The leaves look like shit but the buds have trichomes at least. I think I have some sort of phosphorous deficiency going on. I quit trying to use gaia green in the middle of the grow. It's not working out for me in these 5 gallon pots so I'm back to fast acting synthetic nutes (Maxibloom, liquid kool bloom, powder kool bloom). I know, I know "all that pk bloom booster crap is a waste of money!" but I already spent money on the pk boosters so I'm going to use it. Any advice for a salt boy? I water in at 5.7 and runoff is 6.2. I water in 900 ppm last time and the runoff was 1200. I think this salt boy is backed up with salinity.... Next time I will water with only mag sulfur at ph 5.7 unless anyone has some other advice.

Thanks for popping in, now on to the pictures. Oh yeah, I want to harvest between day 60 and 65.... I hope these things hurry the heck up before my leaves die and causes bud rot. I think that's what happened to my first couple crops, I'm new to growing and not very good so far. Also I will try to get better at taking pictures, they aren't good at all I'm sorry.

I just wanna get these mugs to the finish line. Hopefully my lack of growing skill will only affect the yield but it won't effect the potency.... I guess only time will tell.....

*Cue ominous music

Update: Day 60 since flip to 12/12 (Chem 91' x Chem D) CSI Humboldt- Bog Bad Wolf 2.0))

Since I pulled off 95 percent of the shitty leaves, things are looking better than they were a couple weeks ago in regards to the leaves browning and stuff like that. I've been feeding Maxibloom every 3 waterings or so. I also applied some pk supplements pretty early (mild application) and organic calmag without N

I was thinking day 70 since flip would be around the time I harvest but evidently my plants had different plans...For the most part, the buds look swole with trichomes... These plants are not yet mature in my eyes and I'm sure most will agree. I think things are going OK so far, just trying to get these mugs to the land of cheeba

And finally the pics- all out of order, I picked some in the dark and some in the light- all from today

I'm thinking these go 70-80 days, what say you?

Update: 74 days since flip to 12/12

I've been alternating waterings with kool bloom powder and mag sulfur. I water once every 3 days. Runoff ph 6.2 and about 750 ppm. My target harvest date is 11/18 (85 days after flip) but I'll keep an eye on the trichomes and pistils to see how it goes. I don't see many if any cloudy trichomes at all yet. I took several pics tonight up close with different camera settings on different buds. I'm not much of a photographer but I'm sure a tripod would help.

Update: (81 days since flip to 12/12)

The beat goes on... Somebody mentioned that if you grow from seed, flowering can extend flowering times by a week or two. If this claim holds any water (no pun intended) then that means that 81 days in 12/12 can also present like its at 67 or so.... interesting stuff. Anyway, I took a bunch more pics today

The plan was to harvest on Saturday or Sunday of this week but as I look back I still have a way to go, foxtail or not. I'm ready willing and able to take it to next weekend (92/93 days). Is there any credence to the flowering time from seed instead of clone? I'm new to growing (plandemic stimmy check) but if I can dial in the drying, its up only from here!

Thanks for popping in! Next time I will try to get my leaves less crispy as best I can

Bonus Footage:

2 x 4 tent- I popped another pack of Big Bad Wolf 2.0 (Chem '91 x Chem D) from Humboldt CSI

Here are the 2 that survived my rigorous boot camp of poor gardening tech..

Before we get to the pictures I want to paint a quick picture of where I'm at

SF2000 LED, 1 gal pots of promix HP (over amended with Maxigrow week 1 transplant/veg), lotta tip burn on both plants.

I over fed and didn't take into consideration that promix has a couple weeks of nutes i the base model already.

Here are a couple pics: I YEARN for those neon green stems some of you growers have! I can't shake the purple/red streaking!

I call the left one Bean Pole and the right one Ris

You have weeks to go !

I aim for very few white pistils, not counting foxtailing.

Breeders estimates are just that...

I have two auto's @ Day 116, breeders estimate was 70 days seed to harvest :o

My photoperiods consistently run longer too !

Cheers

I feel like I've shortchanged these mugs! I've been so cautious of over feeding that no doubt I've been underfeeding. Next time it will be a different story!

Update: I chopped a couple days ago at day 85 from flip.

I am drying in the same 4 x 4 tent I flowered in with temperature at 70 degrees and rh around 57-62.

I was tempted to let the plants go one more week but since the leaves were really getting crispy I decided it was in my best interest to cut them down. I figured it wasn't worth the risk the deadness of the leaves getting into the buds- don't know if that makes sense but it was in my mind, HA!

Anyway, here are several upclose bud pics of trichomes and some hanging drying pics:

Thanks again for checking out this grow. I'll be sure to take pics after trimming and give smoke report. Have a great rest of the week
