Prolonging untill 3/15, top em?

I need to leave town for 4 days next month, and return on 3/15. My gut tells me no changes, don't flip, until you return (this is my 1st grow). I'm not 100% sure how tall these will get, so wondering if I show top them now, or just let them grow.

Background - I have 3 plants in soil (from seed, not feminized, could have males) going on 6 weeks give or take (no logging in the begining). There are 3 in hydro between 1-3 weeks (suboptimal I know, clones). I've already topped one of the 3 in soil (Amy-top right in full room pic), when it first reached the 2 foot screen. They are all above the support screen as well as the first hydro which is growing very fast. The smallest hydro (lower left) is the last entry and likely won't make it, so it's not really in consideration at this point.

Setup details-
10x10 tent kept close to 75° 60%
Screen - 2' off floor, 18" from top of soil
Lights - SF4000 12" above Betty (tallest plant), Vivosun 1000 12" above Hydie - still about 3 feet left till ceiling height.
Nuts - FF for soil, GH for hydro

As mentioned I'm thinking about topping the one again and possibly the other two, so they do not get to tall before switching to 12/12 on March 15th. These plants are all getting pretty bushy already, and I have done several defoliating sessions. So what do you think Should I take them all down below/at the screen?

Attached is a full room shot and some close ups. Happy to answer any question and appericate all the help. Thanks!

If you want an even canopy and you're vegging until 3/15, you will most surely be topping those. If the reason you are hesitating is simply from a water management perspective, I don't see the point in hesitating if you have a secondary reso. I will be taking a 5 day trip to CO in March and I will probably be flowering by that point.

when plant has doubled in size
Doubled! I did not expect them to double during flowering, wow. Yeah then they would need to be topped. They would likely be over the lights if they double from here.

The ones in soil are my worry. They drink almost a 1/2 gallon each a day at this point. I have them on a drip feeder, but it is still semi inconsistant (depnding on which plant needs more water). Also I need the hydro ones to catch up to the soil in size. 3+ weeks should get the hydro ones ready to flip.

Oh and FYI this is not really a goal. Being my first grow I'm just looking for success mainly lol. The screen is there for support more than scrog or sog.
Oh damn, yeah that can be a real problem. Do you have a friend who can water em for a couple days? Maybe offer him a couple nugs to do it or something

Aw cute you named them.
4 days isn't too long for small plants. There's ways to make a drip setup with a pop bottle or use a ceramic cone on a bottle and slow water them

you're going to go far kid!
Ah I remember those days where I was so excited to grow weed. Now it's just another thing I do. Don't get me wrong I love it. Every moment. But it's more necessity and not pets for me.
It's like when you raise animals for meat. You dont name them. Gets too personal. Harder to lop off their heads in the end.
Remember homers lobster pinchy?
My plants names are the strain name plus a number or letter. Letter if different pheno. Number if same cut pheno. Not saying op is wrong in anyway just thought it was 'cute'

that's a good feeling. Right now I have stock pile. Trying to figure out how i'm going to store for long term XDD.. If anything bad happens to a plant now, I just think of it as a learning lesson. A couple failed crops wouldn't hurt in the slightest. Makes growing more enjoyable, not more checking every couple of hours

I have a thread where I vac sealed jars in my vacuum chamber to full vacuum then put them in freezer for long term storage. Right around then I'd get a few DMS asking me to sell my weed. Lol. Nope.

Those are from seeds (non-fem). It was mainly a joke, but also a way to sex them. I started with 4 and sent the possible name to our grow group.

A) Amy or Adam B) Betty or Burce C) Cindy or Chuck D) Diane or Dave.

Dave showed signs early and was booted from the tent, and since I've just used the fem names hoping for the best. The H's girls are clones in hydro and just had to fall in line once the name game began. Yes I'm sure once this becomes a "process" and not a "project" the name will gladly be forgotten.

Since I have hoprfully figured out the hydro, these soil issues will not be an issue next grow.

Vac seal the whole jars? Just bought a freezer, was going you vacuum seal a couple ounces in bags. I'm going to try a few different ways

Yes the whole jar. I dont like to use bags because it packs it up like mexican brick weed. Then when you take it out of the bag it's all squished together. No diff to smoke. Just looks like shit.
Less molestation in the jar.

thats what I was worried about!! That's a good idea.. So you just thaw it after? If dried right it shouldn't be dried up correct? One last question haha.. When it thaws does it dry up quicker than non frozen buds?

Just put them in when they ready to be in a jar then vac it and freezer. When you take it out just leave it in the sealed jar until it gets to room temp. When you open the jar it's just like the day you put them in.
I like to let me weed cure, then freeze it if I have too much. Normally it's in a controlled area that's generally cool 59-65°. In the summer I'll freezer more because it gets too warm in the house.
