This is the start of my breeding program. Its probably going to be unorganized on here but I'll do my best. I'm starting with a 10' x 10' room with attached closet that is 2' 6" x 5'. Currently I am finishing up a soil grow so cannot fully convert my space to my needs yet, since I'm waiting on seeds, I'll have plenty of time to get everything squared away. The main room will have a 7' x 7' room built in it. This will be my main flowering chamber. In it I have 4 x 600 watt HPS hortilux bulbs in air cooled Xtrasun hoods ran to C.A.P. 600 watt HPS ballasts on a shelf outside of the 7' x 7' room. 3 Hydrofarm 2'x4' flood tables are set up on a custom built table connected to a 50 gallon reservoir. I use square pots full of hydroton. A 6" centrifugal fan is attached to the ceiling with ducting to a 4" booster fan then the hoods and a medium sized Active Air Carbon filter. The walls and ceiling is lined with I-R block. 2 16" fans circulate the air on the canopy on opposite sides of room. A 4" duct runs from the bottom of the floor to the outside allowing fresh air intake. The pots and tables I am using will allow me roughly 15 plants per table I am estimating. For nutrients I use the FULL LINE of Techniflora Nutes...everything! I believe that covers the flowering room.

Outside of the main room are my water supply where a washer and dryer were, some shelves for the ballasts and a shelving unit for all the "stuff" like pots, nutes and tools. A large board on the wall allows for charts and logs. A ozone generator is also in this area. Cleaning supplies and a garbage is in here as well. Green lights will be installed in ALL ROOMS.

The closet...In here I have a 400 watt Hydrofarm Convertible with a gold MH bulb. Underneath it sits another 2' x 4' flood table and 20 gallon reservoir. I use this for Mothers and plants in the Veg state. Below this flood table is a small shelf with a floro tube above it. A small "Jiffy Tray" with an airstone in it keeps my small clones in netpots and hydroton alive. I use Dip'n'Grow and ROOT 66 for cloning.

I am starting with several strains but will only be flowering one strain per flood table through a perpetual harvest slash sea of green type method.

So far I have these:

BLUE WIDOW from Dinafem
BRAINSTORM from Dutch Passion
ROCKLOCK from DNA Genetics
SOURCREAM from DNA Genetics
SHARKSBREATH from DNA Genetics

also I have a Indica Sativa Hybrid that I've been trying to work with a stabilize for some traits. That I will deal with in a complete seperate thread for breeding and genetics.

Pictures will happen as they are possible and relevant.

In less than 24 hours 4 out of the 5 cracked...
I placed sprouted seeds about a 1/4" below soil in 2" net pots and placed the net pots about 3 feet away from the 400 watt MH in the Veg room.
I use soil for my seedlings because thats what I'm comfortable with, I get close to 100 percent success rates using paper towel germination and soil for the first two or 3 weeks of growth.
I'm almost sure I could have better growth sooner but my setup and knowledge won't allow yet.

Everyone is doin awesome and looking healthy with the exception of Sharksbreath and Brainstorm getting severe nute burn because the flood level was slightly to high allowing the soil i have them in to actually wick up nutes from the hydroton that they sit on. Purely a user mistake, i simply f'd up. After another week i will be placing the netpots that these are in under the hydroton so they can start recieving full veg nutes and have some room for root expansion during this stage. The Brainstorm and Sharksbreath will go to Quarentine room where they can get baby'd back to beast's for papa.

21 Days From opening my mailbox!

Everyone is doing real good, lots of root growth. Will be transferred to full on hydro in roughly 1 week as roots are already starting into the hydroton on 3 of the 5. The Brainstorm is having a hard time returning from the nutrient burn it recieved. The Sharksbreath bounced back fine and is doing as it should. Reservoir has remained pretty stable with ph ranging from 5.8 to 6.5 at its highest. I check daily and use General Hydroponics PH DOWN to lower it. PPM is set at about 900. Fresh reservoir starts at 1100 and ends at about 700. I switch every 2 to 3 weeks depending on how things go and neccesity.

and the BRAINSTORM has been laid to rest...moment of silence. But good news, i have some Kandy Kush, OG KUSH, and OG #18 on the way from a respected friend, not exactly the Brainstorm I had in mind, but tasty non the less.

So here we are...faced with decisions. Lets get right to it shall we...

So here I'm getting definate signs of nute deficiency, cell collapse, and possible PH issue.

What it is; These 3 larger plants were transfered to these larger pots and now do not recieve enough water/food. The flood level is set to the lip of the smaller square pots, which only allows about 3 inches or so into the larger ones, which is clearly not enough. I dont know why i thought it would be, stupid mistake that I see now. But where this leaves me is how to solve this issue. Currently Everything in veg is in 5x5x5 square pots filled with hydroton. The clones were taken from chosen pheno's from the last "growout" and will be grown into Temp Moms that will get cloned themselves then pollinated and budded. So eventually they too will be in larger pots. There are some seedlings that will also be put into larger pots as they grow and decide what they're going to do. So what I'm thinking is switching from the Flood and Drain and using a drip system. All I would have to do is attach a hose with drips(emitters) attached into the pump instead of the fill fitting and plug the emitters into my girls..correct? Please feel free to throw in your two cents.

Here's the Seedlings from the first post....they are growing very slowly it seems. They just got transfered into the hydro like 2 days ago, so I'm assuming they''l bounce back here in a few, but still this slower growth seems abnormal to me. They for sure have a little nute burn from their first week and water levels were to high and they got fed early. But at 4 weeks from seed I feel They should be WAY bigger......suggestions open..
