Hallo guys,

Trying to comapre between two proudcts as am thinking in replacing at least half of my hps lamps.

I have got abudget of almost 3500usd.

Basically I have seen two good offers till now

The first is for KIND led 1000xl on a price of 1539 usd and use 650w of true watts

( I can buy 2 pieces for now)

http://m.ebay.com/itm/281971046658?NAV=HOME

OR

Mars hydro II with actual wattage of 552 true watts

8 pieces for almost the same price!

I really need some advise guys.

I have seen a comparison about both on youtube which the guy stated that the kind is better quality and the plants love it.

With the mars hydro that guy get 1 cluster faliure.

The price makes me lean twards the mars hydro, but am really doubtful as in the end I dont wanna have a fluffy buds if you know what I mean and fixtures that brakes over me!

Ps: I have never used led.

Thanks for all the help in advance..

i would go with the Mars...dependant upon 2 things, i'd look for a PPFD rating for both at close to the distance you plan to use them, and i'd very much like to see customer ratings for both of these, maybe look for them on amazon where they show ratings. unless the Kind light has a MUCH higher ppfd or ridiculously better customer ratings, it seems like a no brainer.
the kind ad sort of hypes that they have "12 bandwidth spectrum" which is basically meaningless, plants use light from 400 to 700 nnm mostly, and practically all led lights cover that whole spectrum. the Mars throw in a few "true ir" or infrared, which are good to kickstart budding, but are useless for the rest of the plants cycle, not even really useful after the plants start budding well (read up on the Emerson effect).
Par or ppfd is how much light that is useful for photosynthesis your plants are getting at the point the lights hit them. you can buy a meter fairly cheap off of amazon or ebay, and i think there are apps you can get for your phone, but i have a stupid phone, so not sure about that.
i'm not aware of the numbers from either of the systems, but unless the Kind lights have a Much higher ppfd, it seems like you'd have to be better off with 8 instead of 2

400 or 600w HPS will kill these all day long...Both are junk, use unlabeled diodes, have the same or near the same efficiency as CFL and cost 3x as much...Both have low PPFD........ Even a 400w HPS for less than $200 will destroy these gutter pieces of shit and probably nearly double your PPFD in a equivalently sized space....:peace:

All LED grower commenting too....

I wouldn't buy LED without cause and for me the cause is hot summers. If I purchase led it will be taken down during winter because I need the heat from HPS. If I am not having to heat my room I can maintain a slight vacuum that keeps smell inside my grow.

If I was going to buy an led system today after only a few days research I would go for the CXB3590 using a 350ma driver.. Most here use the CXB3590 @ 1400ma 36v but I want to spend a little more up front to save money on my bill

Exactly my reason is the summer as well.

Thats why am thinking to flip the half to LED!

I really dont understand those technical nummbers you are saying, am sorry its my bad, as I sayed I dont have alot of knowledge about led or the technical aspects.

Short long story, do you recommend anybody who can build a piece of art for me?!

Ill pay him sure!

With your budget I'd strongly recommend staying away from either brand you listed and look at COB based LED's. Alternatively consider Philips Elite Agro 315w CMH which is somewhere between LED's and HPS for heat dissipation. Some good resources for LED's in the LED and Other lighting section.

Some COB based fixtures which have been proven to perform:

Guys thank you all for all the input and help.

I believe with this money ill go for closed room with co2..

Thanks everybody again.
