Proffesionals only

I have 12 cuttings in a root riot block i have planted in my iws system with strictly pebbles. Can anyone tell me how many times a day i should feed in order to get the roots to grow out of the netted pots? Thankyou

How often do they need it and how can i tell?

If you have the time you can watch them closely, when they start to wilt, water them.

Or, would putting a slow drip or trickle be to much for them? I'm not sure how absorbent those root riot blocks are.

Don't those pebbles require a steady stream of nutrient solution? How will you be feeding once they are established?

.. What are you growing in?.. Soil, Rockwool?.. Really for either one when you feel the medium and its dry then they need water.. As for feeding its all about preferences.. For me I feed, water, break, feed, water, break.. (for soil, or soiless mix put your finger an inch or so deep, for rockwool its if its dry at all)

My cutting is in a root riot (small spongy alternative to rockwoll) there was a few roots when i potted in my iws system (only clay pebbles) and i fed 6 times a day for 15 minutes? I think iv over fed now and the roots have started turning brown :/ what should i do now? Please help me

Go to the hydro boards. I'm pretty sure he's using flood and drain. I don't know how often they water, but how is your water tank? You might have algae if your water is warm, or no oxygen in the water if you don't have an air stone. I grow DWC, so not too sure about your setup.

haha now that comedy!

obviously, buddy obviously.

okay did you get your issues all sorted out(you had another more successful thread in the hydro section i believe)? i understand your running some sort of hydro system? you want to know how much to water? water till roots come out the bottom, probably 10x a day . feed? if thier young with no roots, you shouldnt be adding nutes anyways.

If your roots are turning brown im thinking one of two problem. 1. your not watering enough. 2. your root zone temps are to high.
As long as the top 1/3 of the roots are not submerge the bottom 2/3 of the roots can sit in water all day long. Run your pump 24/7 and make sure the top of the root zone is not in water cause roots need oxygen need oxygen. Give it a try and I bet you'll see improvment.

Good luck!

Do you add H2O2 to your water? It helps oxygenate the water, turns brown roots white. Considered by many as a necessity in hydroponics. Just 1-3 mls/gal depending on strength.

I would direct the stream into the pebbles as opposed to the cube and feed often maybe even continuously.

They were cuttings bro, i got off a friend, in a root riot, i potted them in the iws system at the flood level then put extra pebbles to support it. It wasnt too deep but for some reason they turned brown and sloppy an stopped growin, i had em on 6 times a day at 15 minutes maybe thats why? Someone just posted that roots can stay in water all day long? Is that true

yeah the root can stay in the water lal the time if its aerated via airstone and airpump. sounds like a bit of root rot to me i would add a little h2o2 to your water till things pick back up. i would keep your root fully submerged or at least in water as much as possible at first
