Production of 10000 clones total

How many mothers do i need to produce 2000 clones every 3 weeks?
I will be using humidity domes. Should i use 72 in a tray or 50?
I am aiming for a success rate of 80%-90%.
How long will it take me to get this goal considering I have 32 plants im about to flip into flower.

I currently am using my space for flowering. I have a buddy that needs 2000 clones every 3 weeks. What can i do?

I need them strictly in rockwool cubes. I am being supplied unlimited nutrients, rockwool, lights, etc. So i'm just figuring out whats the best way to produce 2000 clones efficiently.

10-20 flats with domes. 72 in a tray gets crowded fast.

You're gonna need some big healthy moms. I used to run a setup where I needed 200 clones every 20 days. I used 5 big moms that were able to handle that. So you would need more moms, probably like 50.

Shelving with some T5's or LED's would save space for rooting.

Checkout a product called VitaGrow antiwilt. Dip your cuttings in this to help them stay hydrated, shits awesome.

I like to hit my cuttings with a foliar feed or two while they root, helps them stay happy while they cant eat with roots.

One way to make so many clones with rockwool cubes, could be the following mate.

You put the clone with the rockwool in a netpot, dont know what size you will use.

Then you place the netpot or the cubes alone on a bed of claypebbles eg 1 inch high, then ½ inch of water, add a heat mat and there you go, added some pictures to explain further.

What about if i do veg room and instead of having 40 domes, i would just keep the humidity above 60%? and have them on shelves with t5 lighting

With the antiwilt you may pull that off. May wanna try a few and see how they do overnite. Domes are pretty cheap though and I would recommend them.

Aim for 70% humidity as well. Warmer temps will root them faster. I'd say heat mats but that would get costly.

Domes will also be handy for transport.

With 2 people it took about 45 minutes to do 200 cuts. One person getting the cuttings off the plants, another trimming them, dipping them in antiwilt, then clone gel and into the plugs. So with two people probably about 8 hours of work for 2000.

That sounds about right I'll probably space them out between two days. Going with 45 domes with 50 in each dome. Going to get 2 of those heavyduty 4 tier rack shelves 77"x24"x78. I can fit about 28 domes on each rack. Throw on some t12 and call it a day. Now on to the mothers.


I have 6 plants outdoor in 3 gallon pots, I might just repot them into 100 gallons and use those as mothers. I'll throw some 23w cfls around them for an hour or two from 10pm-12pm, just to keep them on a gas lantern schedule and keep them vegging outdoors. Then ill flower them out in the summer after i train them to grow like a bush. I might start a journal for that.

I still think you will need more than 6 mothers to get 2000 clones in one go.

Also taking clones from outside means you could have pest issues so be proactive and make sure they are clean. You may even want to incorporate something into your dip when you cut.

I wanna see a journal with your 2000 cuttings being processed and on the shelving. That would be popular.

Pest management is a must. The outdoor mothers will just be a little experiment. I'm going to dedicate a 20x20 room for mothers with 5 strains. I'll keep in mind with the journal and ill just keep pics and update whenever i have time. This year will be a learning experience, I will have a chance to be head of operation for a 4acre greenhouse. Maximum amount of flowering plants will be 10000. I will also get a chance to grow my own genetics. Just a new side gig for me.

Make sure those mother plants are quality genetics, tested and known to be stable, quality producers. You wouldn't want to end up with a large number of plants that are problematic.

So I'm curious, have you done much cloning to date? Have you used rock wool much before?

Basically, if you have to ask these questions here, you are very likely to fail hard.

So many of these similar posts... make me think the op's are going to end up in the back of a van with a pitbull when they fuck with the wrong cat.

If I wanted shitloads of clones like that I'd probably be doing some tissue culture. It takes longer, but you can get a fucktonne of cuts from a small branch, plus clean them up from all pathogens outside of the mitochondria.
