I recently purchased a procyon LED grow light--this is my first time ever growing, I also bought a grow tent...

Has anyone a review of LED lights or the Procyon LED? Any tips, help or advice is welcome. They were mucho expensive lights & I hope I made the right choice.

Also, I'll be using an aero garden to sprout...any thoughts??

Here's a tip, ditch the LED light. You would be better off using CFLs or even tube fluoros. You could do yourself a bigger favor and get an HPS, but chalk up the LED as waste.

Oh, I don't know about that. The Procyons are far more powerful than the crappy LEDs that have earned them all a bad name.
I'm interested to see how this goes. It probably would be a good idea to supplement the LED during flowering, I'd consider T5s or CFLs.
Which Procyon did you get?

hey man don't let anyone put down leds. i don't know what knid you have but i'm doing an led grow that will blow hid away. check out the luxeon stars. 5 watt led with over 750 lumen and par of near 100. oh yah and one 750 lumen star is 1 cm round. no heat. your light could be amazing. don't listen to anybody. also don't listen to people who say theyve tried. never seen a thread where someone knew what they were doing. put those leds basically touching the plants. they shouldn't burn. Also people will come on here saying there 400 watt hid will blow you away. duh!!! your led light is probably low wattage but i don't think you are expecting a field of weed? do it man good luck. your leds can work better than hid if you use them right.

damn man. I just checked out your light fixture. which 1 do you have? Anyone on here doughting this person better eat there words!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This guy has the real deal led fixture!!!!!!! not your stupid purple and blue 3 watters. Damn man i don't get jelous but today DAMNNNNN. that light is insane. I wasn't expecting it to be so industrial and high quality looking. Give me the exact specs please and price if you don't mind? The prob that i see with your light is that if you blow this grow its def your fault and not the light. Your light is crazy man!!!!!!!!!!! good luck. like 2000 dollars?

I've seen plenty of LED grows, and while they can match the efficiency in grams per watt, they can't match the
quality or yield of an HID. Not to mention, the cost of LED is too high to make it a good option.

I also love the way hid people only count the watts of their light and nothing involved with the cooling. Also we need to stop comparing 100 watt led fixtures to times more. a fair trial would be led 100 watts vs 100 watts total power hps setup. the hps setup must inlude the cooling in that 100 watts. unless you don't cool it. then see which outgrows

Why don't we compare total size of the fixture? Besides like mentioned cost of the lights for what you get out of them is also a good argument for the HID/HPS. The fact is no matter how much any one wants to argue it there has yet to be a proven grow showing LEDs are supperior.

Oh, and we know $1billion dollars exists because we have witnessed its uses(Iraq). No one has witnessed a superior LED grow.

There are no grows on this site with anything stronger than the 90w UFO light. These are not the same bullshit LEDs that you've seen people fail with.

I'm not talking about Rollitup, I'm referring to anything on the web that is credible. If you have proof from a credible source post it.

That's what I'm sayin! Nobody has posted an attempt at growing with these lights. All of the failed LED grows were using inferior equipment. T

LEDs are the future of growing. They may not be ready for prime time yet, but give it some time.

I won't argue this, LED's will one day be equal to or outperform current lighting however at this moment what the general public can't feasibly get their hands on just doesn't cut it.

So? Does that mean we should just stop and give up?

I think that you should wait until they get to that point, otherwise I feel it's a waste of money. If you wan't to spend the money then by all means spend, but I wouldn't. Why not spend less and get a proven light choice?

Then I guess your answer is yes, give up. That is until somebody else does the work for you, huh?

If you read this thread, you will see that no one has found a marijuana grow with this particular light. Not saying it hasn't happened, but no one can find a report. If we growers aren't willing to try the new products to test and compare, then we will be the last ones to benefit from the new technology when it does finally hit.

What is to you a waste of money, is to many others a worthwhile attempt to evaluate new products. Besides, if it isn't that effective for MJ, he can always sell it on fleabay to a tomato grower (for which this unit has shown to be effective) and get a good portion of his money back.

I guess put simply you're correct, but I don't want to be a pioneer I just want to use tried and true methods for growing pot. I personally don't have the money to put on an experiment to grow enough for myself. If it was priced better then yeh I may say what the hell, but that is not the case. Still though my argument still stands true there is no supporting evidence that it will be better just guesses until some one does try it. The only problem is there isn't an experienced grower I have seen willing to try it for the money. I suggest you buy the light and try.
