Problem with germinated seeds

Hi guys,
Ok,newbie here, first grow!i bought seeds from attitude(5 super critical & recieved 2 free super lemon haze & 1 free Cali hash.i germinated with the wet paper towel technique, one of the slh & the Cali hash germinated within a day,not massive roots, just breaking out prob about 5mm.i planted these two in biobizz all mix & watered until a tiny bit of water came out bottom of pot & placed in a propogator(mistake!?).

The next day the rest of the seeds germinated & I done the same with a little less watering.

2 of the super critical hav just broken through but with newbie curiosity I checked to see if the first two had started growing roots,so I've carefully moved away some soil & found the seeds exactly as I left them,no root growth whatsoever!!!

I've not watered then apart from the first time(4/3days) as the soil still seems moist.

What do I do with the seeds that aren't growing?can I 'regerminate' them?replant them or are they dead?!

Thanks in advance for any help

Patience brother. Seeds can take a week or more to pop the surface and some seeds won't make it. Just keep the soil moist (not wet) don't want to drowned your seeds. Soil temps around 80 F seem to work best for me. Just leave them alone for a few more days and see what happens. They might be lazy like me and just taking their sweet time.

Welcome to RIU and good luck on your first grow.

Thanks!!just found it strange that nothin at all happened with them!!should I use the propagator or leave it open!with the lid on it was around 19-22C & humidity between 80-85%.
Cheers

Propagator should help not hurt. The high humidity helps keep the soil moist, just watch for over saturation. Soil needs to drain well, very important.

I use a spray bottle of 78 degree water and saturate the surface of the soil to about 2" deep. The roots need the moist soil or they won't come out past the shell and develop roots.

About 5 days in from cracked seed, I start watering the soil deeper without the spray bottle. This helps promote the roots to go down deep into the container. After that happens the plant starts working the other direction and pushing up to the soil surface.

If this is not happening, it's usually soil temp or moisture. Rarely is it a defective seed after the shell has already cracked open. I killed my first four seeds, takes practice too.

You don't say if its a heated propagator, the guy above who mentions a little heat to get seedlings/seeds going is spot on. either keep your unheated propagator in an 80 degree environment, or if its a heated propagator then switch it on. a little heat moves things along rapidly

It's not a heated propogator,I have it in my spare room though & have digital thermometer in there too which is showing temps around 19-22c over the day.the soil is still wet from the first watering so I think iv maybe over watered on a couple!ill give It a couple more days & see where we are!
Thanks for all the help guys, much appreciated :-)

Update:

ok,so 2 of my super critical have sprouted, still nothing from the 2 SLH & the Cali hash!! One of the sprouted seeds is looking healthy whereas the other one is looking bad!!!its slumping over, looks like there's 2 roots coming out if the soil & looks like something is stuck to the leaves!
any ideas of what it is?will it be ok?!
thanks in advance

Hard to see in the pics Chonger. If it's the shell, you can ignore it and it will fall off on it's own or you carefully remove it from the leaf.

Yeah you just have to be patient with them. I'd given up on a seed after a week and just tossed the cup to the side. 4 days later it up and decides to pop it's head out. The funny thing is it's being faster than the rest. It's catching up quick.

hang in there man, I popped two afghan skunk and popped them into peat pellets, waited 4 days and nada so popped more and they sprouted within two days….

Not having enough space I went to bin the original seeds and inspected them to find they were just about to pop above the soil…

Looking back I think I got the pellets too moist possibly… then needs only a tiny bit of water just enough not too dry out… but keep your prop moist with misting to keep humidity high…
