prob a stupid Aero question: why use sprayers?

Concerning a system that looks like this :

Wouldn't it be more practical, instead of using sprayers, to just run the water lines to the base of the plant itself and use a venturi. I was wondering what advantage the sprayers have?

when it looks like that, there is no advantage that I can see. I'd even just keep running the water through the pipes, like a DWC

The sprayers help increase the D.O.
of the nutrient solution.

Improved DO increases plant growth.

D O = dissolved oxygen, the more D O in the water the better it is for roots as opposed to leaves which use co2 or carbon dioxide.

so how do the sprayers help with "D.O"? if you have the feeding system hooked to a veturi wouldn't it be the same thing? maybe even better..

Would having sprayers make that much of a diffrence instead of running the lines to the base of the plant?

I thought this picture might demonstrate the effectiveness of using sprayers.
