Price of Quality vs Price of Commercialization

So what do you guys think will happen to the price of quality bud.

I think that the price of quality bud may go down a little bit, but nothing to worry about for those who supply to clubs and what not. Because the goverment may be able to produce mass amount but there is no way they can produce high quality. So of course the price for low quality will b nothing. So all the growers that produce large amount of commerical will be screwed, but not the true
Connoisseurs.

what do you guys think.

sorry if theres another thread on this

Well it depends on the consumer really and with everyone (including myself) pinching their pennies I would say the high quality stuff (Dro and what not) may be impacted.

But the people who prefer homegrown or dro will always go after that.

I dunno it's hard for me to predict human behavior with substances.

i think it will happen and it will be fine - it will take pot out of the black market - even if an ounce is like $100 - that's $160,000 for someone who can grow 100 plants! :)

Well the government has done such a good job with everything else, I would say, that they should go fuck themselves on this one. I don't want the people who braught us Anthrax, Vaccines, H1N1, Tusckeegee, the Nuke, the last 6 major wars, and just about everything else wrong with the world, to be in charge of something that already works!

i don't think the government will ever necessarily be in the business of mass weed production - you can leave that up to the established agri-businesses.. i heard back in like 1995 that marlborro, camel, etc already had patents and labels and advertising made up for commercial pot.. they are ready to spring when this thing finally happens.....

but didn't we find that it was the solution to alcohol prohibition? instead of al capone we have the mexican cartels.. i think giving the govt a minor say is fine - in the end there probably will always be rules about selling pot to kids..

ya i heard about that. but they will be able to do large quanties, but theres not way they can do that lage amount at a high quality. growing bud i think is just to individualized for growing the dank. but well see

right - so maybe we'll see packs of cannabis competing with the price of cigs - $5/oz for mashed crunched dried chopped bud.. kind of like how mex is cheaper - but, no one will exclusively buy mass produced stuff - there will still be a giant market for homegrown - after all, the cartels wont be shipping in tons of weed nor canada, so the demand might be huge for local growers.. :)

It will be like the alcohol industry lots of people like the mass produced shit but you still have micro breweries popping up all over.

1)Government will not grow pot if legal to sell.
2)Private companies will grow pot and quality will depend on the consumer.
3)Quality will get better since it will not be illegal and will not be shipped as bricks, hopefully.
4)Price will go down since there will be a large supply and no risk.

Just a quick question. if govt. ever did regulate marijuana, and sold it in stores like they do cigarettes, do you think they would add all those addictive chemicals that are in cigarettes? :?:

i think the answer is no because we know now that weed is not physically addictive by itself - if people turned up with withdrawls from pre rolled joints then that would be an instant problem for the companies..

I can imagine competing companies adding something or other to make people prefer their brand over the others.

but, aren't stoners connoisseurs of weed? we would take deep interest if this was discovered or even rumored about our mass product right? i would not stand for it and i assume what you are describing would be a highly illegal business tactic.. perhaps we will have even minded pot smoking individuals at all levels of the mass cannabis industry who will not let that happen.. i think it is a pretty remote possibility - lots of people would know about it - they couldn't do in en mass in secret for long with so many people having personal interest in the quality of theirs and other peoples' weed..

that's what i think..! ;)
