PREPARING FOR NEXT SEASON---What to do?

Greetings! I stumbled across your board and found some very interesting ideas so I think I will be sticking around for a while! There seems to be some very knowledgable people on here with lots of experience!

Now on with the questions!!!

I live in ontario and Have recently came across what i think is a great spot to grow some buds. I know I am too late this year but I want to plant a few next season!

The location in question is riverside (when I say riverside I mean a few hundred yards) and the soil seems to be moist! as for condition of the soil, like I said I am a newb at this!

I plan on doing smaller garden of like 3 x 3 or 4 x 4. Would it be in my benefit to prepare the spots before winter? And if so, how should I go about doing it? Any help at all with this matter would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in Advance !!!

I just recently started growing indoors having moved out of my parents house. I have had many successful outdoor crops though. one of the main ways people lose an outdoor crop is to other people finding it. this happened to me my first time growing. i showed my friend, who showed his friend, and so on. then whoever chopped our buds off did it 1 month too early so its not like they got anything out of it really. pick a spot that you have trouble getting too. the more thorns and bushes and nasty shit in the way, the better a spot it is. and if you can take a different path everytime you go back to avoid making a trail. visiting at night is another way to lower your risk of getting caught. and use flashlights sparingly, because they are very noticable, obviously. once you find a nice spot, then worry about sunlight penetration. when i found my spot, me and my growing partner spent about 8 hours total clearing out small trees and large branches to allow for more light. then use the bushes, trees, branches and thing and create a barrier-like wall around the grow spot. you can buy some stakes and chicken wire too and fence off your plant area as well. i suggest spraypainting the chicken wire and wooden stakes for increases camoflouge. and depending on how the soil is in your area, you have a couple of options. you can simply add nutrients to the water you use, or you can be a badass and do what i did. i decided to dig a 6' by 6' area, and about 2' to 3' feet deep. this took about 2 days. then fill this space with good soil. i used foxfarm. but again you have to be careful with this because many top quality soils contain blood and bone meal, which can attract critters. i found the best way to keep them away, seriously, is to piss around the perimeter of your spot. some people find this weird but it really works. also human hair, from like a barbershop, can be spread around your area and this can work too. but urine is a way stronger smell and will work better. i would hold it in until i got to my spot and tried to do this everytime. another thing you want to do is LEARN YOUR WOODS!. i cant stress this enough. in the event of an emergency, youll have a much better chance of escape if you know whats around the next corner. i dont know about the local parks in NZ or the amount of wooded area, but if youre still having trouble finding a spot, try volunteering for the parks and recreation service. like a "volunteer park ranger" or something. this is what i did and it worked beautifully. it gave me access to everything, and reason to be there after the parks closed. preparation is the hardest step to growing outdoors. its a lot of work but the results are drastically better and yield is extremely larger than an indoor grow.

chicken wire is not bad but barb wire worked better for me in terms of keeping the deer out, it won't stop moose if they are determent but deer. it won't gelp also with squrriles, so on them i used a .22 pelletgun (no big gun blast of 12ga. giving you away) and rat traps (oversized mousetraps basiclly). i always located the grow in a little open spot between spruce trees which lower the soil pH and will hold the wire as well carmoflash the grow a bit too. oh the wires i put all the way from ground to 7 ft. up so no crazy deer would jump over them. so, the space for the grow inside the trees was always about 15-20 ft. each length, enough for many plants and me to move around but small enough so no-one notice if flying above (damn fish-cops). all i did to the ground was to dig it up a bit and make holes for the jiffies i spruced in. for nutes i toke stuff from the farm as well, so normal veggie or some flower fertilizer in small portions. that all gave me some good crop to smoke

ontario thats my boy advise ofmy personal experience grow a couple mothers inside over the winter and about 2 weeks before planting cut every branc and top off clone them make sure they have good roots then tak'em allout and plant them first when you find a spot keep in mind everybody this is just how i do it and mind you it works great dig your holes about 2 feet wide 2-3 feet deep get some good soil since you live in ontario miracle grow garden and vegaetable soil works fucking awsome but if you can't get some presidents choice super soil,theperfect mix,sheep shit and super peatmoss all from pc mix them all at an equal ratioin your hole's water em then stick'em in and watch em grow but water and feed them once a week but ifyour using seeds start them at home then take them to yourholesonce there about a foot tall if you can't sex them plant about five in a really tight group so they'll pollenat and youll get seeds for next year but keep those five at least a 100 yards from your other ones and there you go bro happy growin hope you use my method
